How does McKinley compare to Smith coming out of high school?

Smith @ 0.9897 was a little higher than McKinely at 0.9862. I never saw Smith play, I saw McKinely play a few times. McKinely needs a little seasoning, like most HS players.

He dominated against a lot of teams but seemed to take a couple of games off, Whether that was loafing or simply not being able to shed guys he was playing against, I am not sure.

A lot of these really big kids use raw physicality and need to be coached up on technique so I am not too concerned about all that stuff, his coachability will be the key to him reaching his full potential.

One side benefit to getting McKinely is a lot of Acadiana people I talk with (I graduated from Acadiana in 1980 and have a couple of great-nieces there) think his younger brother Darryus McKinley may end up being better than Dominick. I am pretty sure they want to play college ball together and that LSU may have either offered or committed to offering both.
