Miss out on Sopsher and the effects will be felt until the year 2021. Never thought it would become just as crucial as it has really become to make sure he is brought in.
Missing on a guy like Ish Sopsher is a burn as bad as could be just looking at the fact that big guys like that are so rare and on top of that even rarer to be in state...But couple that with the fact that you have attrition that was totally ridiculous and unexpected when Ed Alexander decided to ruin his pro prospects by declaring before he was ready in any way, and then having to watch the Exodus that will take place after next year from the D line, where you end up with Shelvin, Ika, and a couple others as the only capable guys at the three line spots...means that losing Ish who would not just be a meaningful player but most likely starts from his second season and onward is now as crucial a situation as I've ever seen. The ripples that this decision will have are both on and off the field in the most major of ways and honestly I hate that we have allowed this kid to have such true power over this program like he has had handed to him throughout this singing class period.
Never should a single player signing or not be so impactful that the decision could still be taking effect in major ways three years and three classes of players later. But this is the bed we've made for ourselves. Cannot tell you how much getting Ika will end up meaning if ish leaves the state. Without Ika then the 2020 d line would've been the worst we've seen at LSU in a long time. It will already after all the players moving on be a unit that is the worst on the defense and will be a liability more than anything, and that is if ish is there...If ish isn't...Then seriously...God help us.

There's always the next "guy." I would love to have Ish and Amite but I'd love just as much to put North Louisiana back on lockdown so when the next Andrew Whitworth or Kyle Williams comes down the pike we'll be ready.
Enough of the games. If we offer Ish AND his brother and they're not ready to commit at this stage of the game, move on. We're getting slow played by Ish because we're not his top choice. He's more potential than product at this stage anyway.

I may be wrong here, and maybe Vol can chime in, but I think the staff is recruiting ALL viable options left on the DL just as hard as they are the Sopsher bros. I think we may actually end up with Young and Moore or Fuller to finish out the class

Do you people never learn? Saban is playing us just like he did with Hootie. We are holding two spots for the Sophsers, which allows Bama to negative recruit against us by telling other DL recruits they are not LSU's priority. On NSD they will both end up at Bama and LSU fans will again be wondering what happened.

Its not message board warriors who need to learn. It’s the staff.
