bama is gonna sign 10 DL this year. saban is convincing kids to go be backups for them instead of starting at other big programs. its insanity.

If he was going to LSU, the easiest, most fun thing he could do right now is to commit to LSU.
What's the deal with this mindset? I'm not saying that we have a shot with this particular kid, but most of the top players don't commit early.
Should we have just moved on from Terrace Marshall, Ja'Marr Chase, Kelvin Joseph, Todd Harris, Kristian Fulton, Rashard Lawrence, Michael Divinity, Donte Jackson, Leonard Fournette, and Malachi Dupre?
These were all highly sought after in state guys. None of those guys committed before January (December signing period in the case of Marshall last year).
It's recruiting guys. This is how it works. Not everyone is the same. Some guys like to commit early and get it out of the way, some guys just like the process and enjoy being recruited, some guys are genuinely torn about where they want to go. You can't just stop recruiting the guys who want to wait.

Only Fournette was seriously considering Bama, as I recall.
The vibe is different from these Amite kids - you should look into it. I'm not saying "move on" completely, but I think it's 99% the kid is gone. We might get Devonta, but it will be because Bama doesn't have room.
It's that serious.

What's going on there?

There is an unofficial handler "The Barber" that is Bama's beachhead in Amite. There's more, but that's the crux of the problem right now.
Just like Saban had a couple of coaches in NELA that helped him tremendously.

The staff doesn't even almost agree with this statement.

We would all like to get Sopsher. Right now he wants us to hold 2 scholarships for him and his brother all the way until the last possible second where he will then decide between LSU and Bama. That is just an unacceptable recruiting strategy on our part in my opinion. 2 scholarships should only be on the table if he signs early.

Man stfu. Nobody cares about the opinion of ONE.. when I'm sure the mass would understand we NEED DL depth. Besides, you get better in college

I'm the most optimistic person here in regards to recruiting. But...
He gone.
He gone.

How does Saban get that done in another state let alone in Alabama?
Posted on 11/5/18 at 11:24 am to ApexTiger
Sopsher is like Surtain, but leaning even further to bama. The only way to change the tide would be to go through Sanders the bag man

Don't be a child. You've heard the expression about what currency can communicate relative to how male bovine excrement can ambulate.

I think coaches understand the veracity of the recruits words and their true desire to attend a given school. Actions speak louder than words. There is nothing that serves to indicate that the player will ultimately commit to any school other than Bama.
This one will only upset me come signing day if we have not worked other options as a contingency plan. I won’t be upset for the fact that he chose Bama, but for how obvious it is now (and has been for sometime) that he is going to Bama, not LSU and the staff didn’t adjust.
If LSU hold spots for the player and his brother against a background of the players recent actions, then shame on our staff for not developing a better plan and set of alternatives.

Have to get Sopher to LSU
He is gone plain and simple he just hasn't announced it yet. The Bama boogieman already visited it is over, move on. Don't get me wrong this sucks big time, but it is what it is we aren't going to be able to change THEIR minds because of the drop-off.

Well, LSU going to have to open their checkbooks wider than Bama and that's not going to happen. Sopher family isn't particularly rich and the claws are already deep from Bama. He's not coming here get over it and move on to someone else.
