This Burns thing tho

quote:

"(Defensive Line) is going to be a priority. We have some big-time guys left. We are right there in it with them. For at least one or two, with two or three guys out there. Some big-time running backs are out there. Now it gives me a little time to look at our board and see who is out there. Maybe go get another safety or another cornerback which we need, but we have to just look at the board."

I think us asking him to wait til Feb sealed it.

Can't fault him

I don't give a shite about Burns. Just my feeling on the issue.

I doubt we get another CB unless it's transfer portal or we stumble over a really highly rated kid somehow to close. We'd be fine with 6 corners next year between:

Stingley
Ricks
Flott
Ward
Raydar
Vincent (nickel)

Same # we had this year, but with more experience overall. Also a decent chance someone could move over to CB too currently on team. Harris and Hampton are both kind of swing DBs.

I swear to God, Burns better be a Thorpe finalist in a year or two with the way people have been acting about him on this fricking board.

Burns was a stud (maybe not the studliest) who wanted to play for the hometown team bad.

This staff is great at recruiting. I have no doubt about it.

They make terrible decisions on who to recruit and when to recruit them though.

That and apparently LSU just doesn’t have the bankroll to seal the deal for guys like Evans and Burton in the final hour.

Yea there are a lot of questionable decisions that have been made in crunch time the last 3 years

Kind of disappointing to say us get played so routinely as well considering who our head coach is

I mean, he has back to back top 4 classes and will likely have a top 2-4 class again in 2021 but yeah, they're terrible at this recruiting thing.

The coaches handled it all beautifully. Perfectly managed the numbers.

This thread is bad

Hope everyone feels better

I mean, it happens. I don't understand the outrage over losing 2 kids. Burns and Jarrett are the only two that were "flipped" right?

And losing Evans after making him our #1 priority by far.

The all eggs in one basket strategy isn’t a good one.

I’d be shocked if we landed Gibbs.

Staff didn't want that CB, so they didn't take him

Simple as that
