I know! If he'd cut that crap out, we'd probably have a shot at an undefeated championship season!

Auburn and Alabama didn't even look at Josh Wiliford at all and will start at LSU. And not because there is no one else to play the position. Alabama also did not offer TM7.

Yes, but of you followed recruiting last year, you'd know that even after we saw Rivers, we had to be turned down by at least 3 other QBs before we took him. So I guess everyone was wrong about him. Probably flew under the radar with Rivers on his back.

But maybe I'm just biased because of how embarrassing our QB recruiting was last year before Mett came along.

Even Jerrard Randall was a late add after he failed to get into Oregon (his original commit) because of his ACT scores.

Yeah.. embarassing..

Ryan Perriloux, Russell Shepard, Garrett, Jefferson, Lee, etc. Can't help that they didn't pan out.. we recruited plenty of talent.

Oh I forgot... The QB position has been carrying this team all year.

I understand that Miles 'had' to do it this year, but it would be nice next year if Miles only took Mett out when we are up 48-0.

I didn't say that. But it's just hilarious (in a sick sorta way) that with what may be one of the greatest teams in CFB history, Miles still has his detractors. Spoiled rotten fanbase.

I think he will the #2 guy in a two QB system for the next 3 or 4 years, getting 10-25% of the snaps with a more option-run oriented playbook as a change of pace

Even in the pros they'll still run the wildcat from time to time. The only difference will be that the guy we have running it will be capable of throwing the ball. In addition, to giving playing time to someone in this roll means that we have a better chance of recruiting a dual threat QB next year (when Gunner will make it almost impossible to land a good pro style QB). On the whole it means we should be able to keep 5 or 6 QB's on the roster rather 3, making us less prone to injuries, defections and stupidity. So I'm okay with it.

Has anyone mentioned that the Keil's have been confirmed to be contacting LSU daily?

I don't think "daily" was known, but it has been talked about that the Kiel's have been in contact with the Coaching staff since the dead period.

I will freely admit that I am not a scout or a coach, so I'll defer to them on this one.

Gunner Kiel:
Scout
Rivals
247

Stephen Rivers:
Scout
Rivals
247

Now, let's not just star gaze here.
River's area's for improvement are Accuracy/Consistency and Decision Making...
Hmmm, well Rivals compares Kiel to Peyton Manning, citing that he is a student of the game and has a great QB mind, akin to Peyton Manning.

Just by the eye test, Gunner Kiel looks like far better of a prospect with size in his arms, chest, and shoulders.

Finally, there is some discrepancy with rankings and how players turn out, but I think we can all agree that when making an assessment on a player, offer sheet is a pretty good indication.

And the instate teams wouldn't touch Mr. Rivers, while they both signed QBs that LSU wanted, while we took their scraps.

Now, have some film and look for yourself:
Rivers
Gunner Kiel

You see how much nicer Kiel's throws are? You see how he places the ball with good velocity, while Rivers lofts his balls up in the air? You see how Gunner can make it into tight windows, while all of Rivers' balls are thrown to wide open receivers?

Also, Kiel has much more mobility in the pocket and when running called runs.

Now, stop with the BS, there's no way to say that Rivers is a better looking prospect in any category except height, by 1 inch.

Nothing against Rivers. I'm sure that he will be a decent QB, but he's a project while Kiel is a future star wherever he will go. He's the only 5 star QB for Rivals from the last 2 years....

Winston is also a 5 star this year. I'm sure there were others last year.

You're right about Winston. I guess I should have said only pro-style QB, but there was no 5 star QB on Rivals last year.

Keil stands so strong and just looks so much better then anything we have had in a while. Great size and can make all the throws.

I am sold

Yes, Gunner and his parents have contacted Miles a lot.
