Leavitt played 7 games in 2025. No need to use his 2024

Ya, certainly not noteworthy that Leavitt was better in his 1st season starting vs Dampier in his 2nd.

86.0 run

Dampier 82.2 / 75.2 / 78.3

Dampier seems like a very good fit for Lane’s offense. That’s a big key. He’s so played a lot of football and had to carry his teams at times. He wouldn’t have to do that for the most part in this offense, but it goes to another level if the QB has that gear.

I knew it was a small sample but I had noted him as one to watch in the next year or two. Who knows what direction they go with the coaching change.

Dampier was at New Mexico in 2024. Not exactly the best situation to thrive.

Dampier is fine he’s just not better than those other guys throwing the ball

He’s not, but he’s a really good athlete and this offense is built on creating favorable reads and matchups in the passing game. It does a good job of hiding/mitigating the QBs weaknesses.

I mean if we are just wishing QB's into the portal, I could think of many guys I'd want to play QB at LSU over Dampier.

I've seen Oregon will snag him if Moore doesn't stay. Maybe he's waiting on their decision.

Oregon is “linked” to every QB in the portal or who might hit the portal

No disagreement there. But Dampier was suggested in this post because of the coaching staff turnover at Utah and the fact that the starting QB job is obviously occupied at Michigan. It should make him a little earlier target to tamper with.
