as usual you make absolutely no sense.

brown was committed to miami for longer than richardson was committed to bama. brown had ties to the miami program; richardson did not have ties to bama. richardson said he committed to bama to make sure he had a spot in the class. brown committed to miami because thats what he felt like he wanted for quite some time. richardson was open about taking visits from the moment he committed. brown didnt say he was taking visits until october. brown stopped mentioning lsu in february. richardson never stopped mentioning lsu.

lsu realized richardson was going to bama on signing day. how in the hell does that give lsu months to get on brown after they realized they werent getting richardson?

I finally saw a photo that proved it to me. Nice catch Santonio

so you couldnt see the fact that a player got both feet down live, after the many replays of it, or from the many videos of it on the internet, yet you expect people to really give a shite about your "evaluation" skills?

Anyone have anything insightful to say instead of all this drivel about how hard we did or didn't recruit this guy? You have no freaking idea of what or why we (LSU) did what we did. And without nearly all of that information yall are making comments like we screwed up with this guy?

Seems funny too that a week ago most people posting here were saying he was a kid with issues not worthy of being a tiger and now we screw up for not pressing harder. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I am sorry but I am going to have to side with Les Miles on how recruiting was handled this year.

About 12 noon, LSU received word from the Richardson camp that Richardson was coming to LSU..

then Nick stepped in and preached committment and he stayed with Bama..come 4 pm that day.

Nick closed the deal.. We had Richardson

Has anyone seen or heard if Maimi actually pulled Brown's offer or was this something to possibly try to pressure him in to committing to the U

I dont think they "pulled" it. I think it expired, but i dont know if they renewed it or not. I would imagine they did.

Its part of the reason I don't believe brown's interest is genuine.

I dont know what % shot we got at this guy, none of you do. But, I dont buy that a kid and his family would spend their own money to travel to a university to visit just to bluff or get media coverage. He must have some interest on some level.

His letter of intent expired at midnight last night. Miami can still choose to renew it but they did use it as a negotiating tool.

"God doesn't know where this kid is going"

God needs to direct all questions regarding Bryce Brown to Brian Butler.

Maybe we should call up Rivals to see if they'll let us in on who they plan to make #1 next year. That way we can get in extra early on that mofo.

You answered your own question. What's the point of continuing to recruit a kid hard if he doesn't show interest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

he never said he wasn't interested in us at any point in the recruitment...as a matter of fact, he loved Miles when the two chatted Monday, so I don't see why this would all of the sudden be a revelation

I think we clearly went hard after Richardson and didn't press Brown much assuming he would follow his bro to The U ...but as soon as he started going cold on Miami and realized that Richardson was a Bama commit, why not go after him hard at that point? If he would go way out to Oregon he would come to LSU I would have to believe ...we could have gotten in seriously a couple of months ago but we didn't
Limited resourses and judgment of interests by the recruit. The coaching staff did an exceptional job in both those categories this year. They did a good job.

This comment is based on ignorance about the dance of recruting. Bryce showed little interest, was a Miami commit, and we went hard after Richardson. RB Is NOT our top priority this year, but with our #1 class, you can't do anything but praise Les and the staff. Jackson's double cross still pisses me off and I"m sure took some shine off of Les' satisfactio with the class.Bryce would put that spit shine everything.

The first 5-star to commit to bama will be rivals #1.

..and now this year we need big-time RBs in the class and put all of our eggs in the Richardson basket, and now we get in on Brown, the #1 RB late..probably too late once again

we already got a star running back this recruiting class + we were worried about scholarships

I think that some of you are selling LSU's chances with BB short. It seems to me like he was thinking Miami all the way for a while and changed his mind for whatever reason. I'm willing to bet that he decided not to sign on NSD at least a week or two before the time came, because he wanted to look at his options after deciding not to go with Miami late in the game. LSu probably had not crossed his mind, much like LSU hadn't considered him a likely commit. LSU ends up signing only one RB, Miles sees that Bryce is still on the table, Bryce sees that a program with recent success and lots of talent could use him, and he decides to make a visit. It really wouldn't surprise me at all if he decides on LSU. If he doesn't, I'm not going to cry about, because I was never expecting for LSU to even have a chance with him. However, I would say that LSU currently is second to Oregon, and could pull to even or above after this kid makes his visit.

I never said otherwise, dipshit

really? the rest of the world knew it was Bama ...how often does Saban lose these types when they are committed to him? once Richardson committed to Bama we might as well have gone after BB... about the same chance. When BB opened up his recruitment and started taking visits in October it was a no-brainer to go after him hard IMO

I never saw Santonio's right foot down during live coverage...saw it graze the grass but that was about it... but then again, I had been partying and drinking all day so perhaps I missed it

you probably caught it just fine sitting on the couch holding your sister's hand. Congrats
