Outside of Jacob Hester, what other really good Evangel player came to LSU? We got Josh Booty after he decided to give college football a try three years after HS, and his brother Abram came here. Almost forgot Chase Pittman, who originally committed to Texas, and likely would've stayed if his brother didn't die. I also vaguely remember a reserve LB from Evangel. I guess my point is I haven't felt good about Rasco reversing the trend. If he went to West Monroe, he would've already been committed to us.

We'll see how much of that stands with the new scheduling issues, but it does say to me at least they they're looking to "beef up" the OOC schedule because the in conference games will be less than enticing.

So basically, ya'll are the pac 10 now. Just maybe not as strong. We all have respect for the strength of your team. We just don't have respect for what you guys are doing to your own conference.

If you say that you like the alignment of your conference right now, you are lying. That's what the other poster was referring to. He's right, you'd think that a recruit would consider his competition.

I didn't say they were scheduling world beaters, but it's a step up from the directional Louisiana teams, the Wyomings, and the Central Floridas of the college football world.

Where the hell did FSU come from?

FSU coach is former LSU coach, with LSU's BCSNC ring.

THerefore, some high end Louisiana recruiting is going to happen from time to time.

Having a top two =/= down to two.

Bubba Alexander.

But you forgot Byron Dawson he coaches at ECA as well. Abram Booty, Phillip Maxwell and Lydell (cant remember last name). Cisco Perkins and Robert Davis both. We have had a 50/50 split with UT out of ECA. What scares me is that LSU doesnt lock down ECA. I mean we have sent kidsall over the country. Texas Tech, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan, Illinios, Colorado, Baylor, Arky and Ole Miss. When you look at the odds. they don't favor LSU

But I know for a fact from Rasco's mouth he perfers UT. (as of Jan 09 last year.) Things could have easily changed.

Also Steveie Lee signed on a UT. FYI Jacob orginally committed with UT as well.

Actually Maxwell is the one I am thinking about, but underscores my point. The elite ECA players almost always go somewhere else. Shreveport is firmly LSU territory, but ECA is not a pipeline to LSU like WM seems to be. John Curtis appears to be the same way. What gives? I've heard a lot of blame thrown on the coach at Curtis, but Evangel has cycled a lot of different coaches through there.

Yeah they switched him from RB to LB after he got there. Then rumor is he got in some trouble. He was extremely talented. Unfortunately he never wore a ECA jersey. He wasnt qualified his senior year after him and Robert Transfered over from Logansport.

I hate this stupid unsubstantiated perception!

Besides J. McKnight, what John Curtis player had a commitable offer from LSU and didn't sign with us since the late 90's?

A dishonest statement on your part seeing as nobody here believes any such thing.
We all give Texas her due.
The problem is we also give KU, KSU,Baylor,Iowa State, and the two name teams in the north that are fleeing theirs as well.
The conference is on life support.
It would be natural for an out of state recruit to consider

eh the big 12 might die, but who cares? i sure as hell do not. It also appears that recruits do not seem to care either.

I do have a feeling that Texas will be just fine.

Its called coaches who would reather take care of themselves then help out the state school. J.T. Curits and the coaches at ECA have never been big LSU fans.....What ever we get from the schools are because the players like LSU and nothing else.

Of course they will. They hand built a conference where they call all of the shots. It's just a wussy arse thing to do.

If you don't care about the big 12, then don't pout when your arse gets ripped for playing in it! We'll rip Texas now for the same reason we've ripped USC for the last several years. Weak arse competition!
