Why was he listed as a OF in the thread on the rant but he is a SS? Do we already know he is moving to the outfield? Maybe the next coming of BJ Upton.

He can play either and PM has already shown he will put players on the field that can hit even it it means moving positions.

No.

Doubt it. I'd settle for the next Jared Mitchell though.

He would definitely be a upgrade over any outfielder that we have now. A kid that can hit and fly, I will take that.

Nope but I read about him and he seems like a good athlete. Maybe a righ handed Jared Mitchell? Or IMO BJ Upton without the hype and draft status.

I followed him a little right after he committed. He seems like a good smart kid.

He plays for my alma mater. I asked someone who's been following Elkins Baseball for over 10 years now how Geonte compares to BJ Upton. Here's what he said...

He's pretty fluid defensively, but has some wtf moments. He has a pretty good arm and could play SS or 3b, but will probably grow in to OF. He still has some work to do at the plate. A guy with his skill set should be batting .400-.450 in HS as opposed to .300-.350. His swing isn't as smooth, or natural as BJ Upton. He has a high upside, but won't be an instant impact player.

ETA: There is a Sophomore on the same team that I hope PM keeps an eye on named Tristan Gray. His dad played at Rice and his uncle played at TCU/A&M. He's already a player.
