Is Vandy in the SEC? Yes
So that makes him an SEC caliber player. It’s not science, it’s common sense.

Really couldn't disagree more with that line of thinking or other branches that come off of it, but that's not for this thread.

What about when Kiffin leaves in one or two years and FAU is just FAU again?
Oh, you mean like the last successful head coach at Vandy did?
It went from a .615 w % to a .361 w %
Yes, 2 years under Kiffin is 10 times better than 4 under Derrick Mason....sorry
Vandy was 5-7 overall and 1-7 in the SEC and dead last in the SEC East. It's his 4th year. Sorry but any other school, and you laugh at that....but, theres that top shelf education, so many consider it a home run offer, and academically, it is....but your pointed out arguement is weak

I get the feeling we can anchor this thread now, at least until his recruitment picks up more steam (which it will)
I bet coach checked out of this thread, and tbh, I don’t blame him

There are players on the LSU roster that many on here consider "non-SEC" caliber. Hell, Most on here think last years recruiting class is full of non-SEC caliber players

Damn, he got a Vandy offer? Solid, I'd jump on that.
He'll have his shot to prove himself in the premier college football conference.
Playing for Kiffin has its appeal but who knows how long he'll be there.

As discussed, Vandys coach, at the rate hes going, has very little chance of being there 4 years, at 2 million per. Not sure of his contract length, but it's been 4 years, and he sucks
But the allure of getting a vandy degree is so damn strong.
Not sure of Quads GPA and credentials for being ready for Vandy education system, but he seems like a great kid and ready for the challenge.
It's a good problem for the kid to have! Good luck to him regardless

The average act at Vandy is a 33, so Quad would need to definitely need to reach out to some tutoring services if he chooses to go there. But he would get one heck of a degree!

These people don't know what they're talking about either?

The average ACT score composite at Vanderbilt is a 34.
he 25th percentile ACT score is 32, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 35.
In other words, a 32 places you below average, while a 35 will move you up to above average. There's no absolute ACT requirement at Vanderbilt, but they really want to see at least a 32 to have a chance at being considered.

They aren’t disputing that. They’re disputing the poster saying Quad will need a ton of tutoring. Mind you that the poster has never met the kid and doesn’t know anything about his academic background.

quote:Most athletes need some type of tutoring. That is why most college campuses in the SEC has something similar to what LSU has in the Cox Communication Center so that athletes/football players can get help if/when they need it. And it isn't the type of tutoring that Alvin in the program needed, but just help w/ classwork if you missed something in class cause you had/have to travel for games, treatment, etc, and needed help to catch up.

Ur comparing the football team to the regular student population. It doesn’t work like that. My good friend was on staff at Vandy for the last couple of years and you for damn sure didn’t need a 34 to play football there. I’ve also had two close friends play for Vandy and their scores looked very similar to Quads.

Stanford's average ACT score is 33, and for regular folks the least score they would consider is a 31. By the same link I provided for Vandy.
