I kind of agree.
Growing up, black friends of mind talked about Southern and couldn't give two shits about LSU. They liked Florida State, Alcorn State (Air McNair) It has changed since then but teenagers seem to be bandwagoners.

Mathieu and Landry never committed to Tennessee.

I don't know about that. Last year was just a year we took a lot of in state players. (Only 6 OOS guys as opposed to 15 in 2010 and 12 in 2009.) The two years before that Gonzales, Stud and Haley were bringing in guys like Gore, Boone, Copeland, Maclin, Ware, Montgomery, Sheppard, Loston, Minter and E. Washington.
I think last year was the exception, not the rule and we take closer to 10-12 OOS guys again this year.

no way we take 10 oos this year. that's the concern about being "locked" into la. (by our own ineptitude) we already have 11 la. guys committed with collins, phillips, bourque, devall and edinburg with offers. thats 16 if we get them all and don't take guys like moore, peters, obioha etc.
we will get 7 or less oos this year, that's a very low number for a year that is basically average in terms of la. talent. LOCKED IN.

I don't know. I'm guessing we'll get Avery, 1 OOS QB, at least 1 more OOS WR, probably 2 OOS OL, maybe 2 OOS DL, 1 OOS DB and 1 OOS Ath.
That would give us at least 9 OOS commits. I think we are just locking up Louisiana talent early.

that all sounds plausible, but I don't think we get a wr, db, and ath. probably only one of these. if we get all 3 of these we would need to take a total number north of 25.

I don't remember them ever committing to anyone before LSU.
