I don't want to think about RN until he sends in his signed letter to be honest. I don't mind the show that prospects get but it's a long way till 02/20/13

Personally, just from watching his film I think he is more like 3 star material but you can't go against our staff's talent evaluation after what they have done in the past. So if we get him good. If we don't thats cool too.

I think he's a legit 4*. Very good length at 6'5 with arms to match, nice bulk with room to add more at 240-245, strong, nice burst and quick off the snap, good athlete with a basketball background, extremely high potential. I think we have better guys on the board but just feel he's too good to pass on to hope we land another guy. One in the hand... Type situation. Beyond the top 3(Nkemdiche,Williams,Prevot) I think he's the best guy on the board and that's not a turn down guy considering that I only consider 1 of those 3 as a strong lean(Williams). He kind of reminds me of how Lavar Edwards was viewed in HS but with a higher ceiling. I view him as a SDE with DT possibilities down the line. Defintely an inside guy in the quick, pass rushing sets that we run at times.

He is one of my favorite prospects on our board. I think he can DE/DT and be good at it! If he does pick us then we are getting a very good lineman that will compete right away and possibly be one of the first lineman called upon in the coming years!

I think his versatility is what ultimately got him a spot in this class

I think the board mods were just counting the other DE offers LSU has out there for 2013. The shear number of offers to what many think are higher rated prospects may have played a role in it. Nkemdiche, Beckwith, Prevot & Williams or even just Beckwith, Prevot & Williams.
It's smart for the staff to go with Herron, and hopefully two more of the other guys.

Yeah we have to get him. I actually feel pretty good about us with Prevot too though.

I feel good about Prevot myself and think we'll ultimately land him but it's still up in the air. That was the jest of what I meant. TAM's long, average year and our staff pressing, pressing,pressing, lands him come decision time. Also helps that we have the perfect example of how he projects in Mingo. It's all lining up for us with him. We just have to close the deal. Imagine Prevot, Patterson, Herron and Williams just at DE on paper. Wow.
