Go back and look at some of SJ's vids. Amazing balance and really big and fast.
He is big and fast, but I don't see the amazing balance. I see that when I watch Michael Ford, Jeremy Hill, and guys like that; but not Johnson. I see him burst through holes at times, and then have no moves to do anything to beat the safety.
He does have a lot of potential bc he is a physical speciman with a good size/speed ratio. I just think that he isn't a sure thing, and there are question marks there. Good luck to him either way.
I just don't think this is passing on Christine Michael caliber RB.

I agree with that, but I don't think Lache is Christine Michael caliber either. Great points, and thank God for Ford.

I think Lache is. I think he's the best homerun hitting RB in this class. He just has a gear that I don't know that Michael had either. He'll be great if he comes here considering he'll get a lot of open lanes surrounded by talent like Jefferson, Shep, Randle, our O-line, etc.

I really think Storm is the better prospect. Plus Storm loves LSU. Let's not sit around waiting until NSD for a kid who is very talented but IMHO won't be the college player SJ will be.
PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE PIPE!

Previously, Storm was at a high school that only let him touch the ball 6-7 times a game. He will now be the feature back at his new highschool.
That says a lot considering he was splitting carries in 1A ball.
That's the reason his highlight reel looks so awesome, he's playing against a bunch of scrubs.
I think Johnson is a great prospect, but going off of his film is retarded. If you put me at RB in 1A LHSAA football, I could pump out a badass highlight reel like too.
He also seems like one of those "rivals kids" that embellishes his profile to make him look a lot better than he is. I even got caught up in the mania for a while, but truth is, once camps started, his options started falling, and fast.
He will probably be a great back at a college like WV and us recruitards will talk about how dumb Miles is for passing, while ignoring how great our backfield is.
It's just the nature of the beast.

Good point. I guess LS would have a better highlight film if he played in say 3A or 2A instead of Texas 5A. Oh and why does Storm love LSU more than Lache? Is it because he has less options to top colleges than Lache. Lache has been an LSU fan since at least 3rd grade, has family in LA and close friends from the BR area. I am not sure about when Storm became a fan of LSU, but it might have something to do with UGA and the Yellow Jackets not showing interest.

Anyone come to a conclusion on why we offered Spencer Ware and not Storm Johnson?
That all went down pretty wierd-like.

Only the coaches know that one, but I think Ware looks faster and more elusive than Storm while having similar abilities to run bt the tackles. He is definitely more athletic. The only downside is Ware may leave early for baseball.
Otherwise, Ware looks the better all around prospect.

even if sj is a better prospect, which i dont think he is, we only have a shot at Lache....there is no chance to get johnson now so why even the discussion???

Posted on 8/18/09 at 8:37 am to FanInLA
we can get a prospect like storm johnson any day of the week.

Because the coaches feel fairly strongly that Spencer Ware will be the better college RB for LSU.

so which one of our resident Auburn lurkers is frantically copy and pasting the original post into Lache's facebook?

So what you're saying is that you just don't have a clue

We took a big back in Ware this year. We have two big backs in state next year that are LSU leans. It would be stupid to get 4 big backs in two years and no change of pace guy. We don't have anything like Lache on the team other than RS.

OK, thank you. This makes the most sense to me. Very good point.
