This is a legitimately query. I love Moffit, and am not trying to flame. But I wanted a legitimate discussion / opinion.

I know LSU recruits are super fit and have great stamina. Yes, I know that LSU players are better prepared than 99% of the country, are faster, have more stamina etc.

BUT...
I feel like year in and year out, LSU players look less srong and a bit more winded as the game goes on as compared to Bama. I feel like LSU defensive players look like they are hitting an iron ball when they play Bama and this difference feels even more apparantly by end of 3rd quarter (for obvious reasons)as compared to when they play other SEC teams where they look like they are equally matched or more physically fit.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there something that Moffit's protoge is doing that Moffit isnt? Does anyone feel like Moffit is loosing his touch just a bit?

The Bama team that was gassed in the 4th against us? That we pretty much pushed around the 2nd half?

That was pretty much manhandled by A&m?

Your thread sucks.

Is that why LSU shut them down on 7 consecutive drives in the second half? I mean, if it wasn't for the prevent defense, and some missed assignments on that last drive....are we even talking about this?

Did you watch Georgia's last drive against Bama?

If not for poor clock management, Bama loses that game. Their defense looked exhausted at the end.

And just FYI.

If Bama could trade for Moffit they would do it in a fricking second..

No. Moffit knows what he's doing. The only difference from this year and last was that we started with a quick pace offense and the team was extremely well conditioned for that. Aside from that, its a depth question. I think they looked extremely well conditioned/rested vs. Bama, what cost us there was experience/ill timed defensive play calling. To me, Bama looked winded that game.

I think in regards to the last 3 games we lost some of our momentum/motivation after the Bama loss. The defense still came alive in the fourth to close the games out, but they looked like they were sleep walking through the first 3 quarters.

Haha. I probably would have still brought it up as I felt i noticed a bit of it for the past year. The thing is, I agree that 1) we did fantastic against them and almost won; 2) we shut them down in the 2nd half except for some missed assignments; 3) Miles & co are the only team 3-3 in the reg season against Saban.... etc etc etc.

Yet, i feel like the reason we won on that front were as following: 1) Chavis is a beast and barring missed assignments can make a brilliant defensive game plan to put his players in a position to win, which leads me to 2) We have the quickness where mingo/montgomery were able to rattle McCarron enough to throw errant passes / force the run etc.

But the thing is, I felt all season that when it came to 1 on 1 tackling (except for Minter, Reid and a few other obvious beasts), overall we were a hair behind in tackling born from relatively less strength. I felt as if we got pushed back a bit more on each tackle. The Bama players looked like they were a bit stronger without losing their speed whereas I feel we are able to maintain our speed while sacrificing some bulk/strength. The prime example i saw was Lacy. He has bulked up a LOT the last year, but his quick burst is still unchanged if not better. Yes, Ik people have said that their Oline is whats heping him but I am gauging him on pure initial quickness & strength, and it was also obvious when he was able to push LSU's tacklers over and over again for several yards after contact.

I think Miles doesn't know when to back off of hard grueling practices. Since he's been here we seem to play with heavy legs at times.

Sorry to say this, and don't take this the wrong way, but you are a typical LSU fan. Everything that insert team name or coach here does is correct and never wrong and everything that LSU does is incorrect and never right.

First of all, I am not taking that the wrong way. Nonetheless, that is far from the truth. If you read my post I have said nothing of that sort. I am huge Miles supporter and I never said Moffit was doing something WRONG. Also, don't take this post/discussion as me talking about firing Moffit or saying he sucks (as that would be catastropic and far from the truth). Everyone knows Moffit is a fitness guru and any team would pay through their nose to have him train their players. I am a huge LSU fan, and am always hypercritical of the team and in that sense I am a typical LSU fan used to contending for NC's year in and year out.

I just happened to feel this and was simply wondering if 1) people noticed at all what I was talking about , and 2) If people knew if the Bama fitness coach was doing something different/ extra that may be helping their players in terms of strength building.

bro, Bama's S&C Coach trained under Moffit. He is like the douchey knock-off version of Tommy Moffit.

Haha I am aware, and your opinion of him is spot on. And it seems to fit the generic Bama recruit's personality pretty well.
