I think the bigger deal is that they lost five of the best players in the class.

Who were the five and explain why they were the best?

I follow recruiting quite closely and they didn't lose anyone expected to get Freshman playing time.

They could only sign 25 in the class. The backcounted 2 to last year and put 25 in this year.

If 25 was the max... and 2 were backcounters... how many had to drop out of 32? Hmmm...

You "follow recruiting quite closely" and yet you call early enrollees "backcounters." Hmmmmm....

ETA: And yeah, I'm just giving you shite.

Congrats, it only took you 3 posts to lose all credibility. I would say that is a new bama record... but it isn't.

I think he lost it with the first one.

He just kept adding to it.

2 signed baseball contracts. Atleast 2 are going to JuCO (I think), but it might be 3.

Devonta Bolton, Melvin Ray, Destin Hood, Kerry Murphy, Jermaine Preyear.....

Preyear wasn't an academic casualty.

Brandon Lewis, Kerry Murphy, and Bolton were the 3 that didn't make it. Murphy could probably earn some PT however he was at Hargrave and was always seen as iffy. Bolton and Lewis seem like they'll develop into good players over time but not a loss like a Julio Jones, BJ Scott, Mark Barron, etc etc etc

Ray and Hood went the pro baseball route. Hood was always considered a lock for baseball. Ray was a bit of a shocker which caused people to speculate on his grades a bit based on his draft position.

So we agree that Bama signed at least 5 guys they could not even enroll? What's the point of that.

We already know the answer but it would be impressive if you could just say it.

Look at the list of casualties around the SEC. Most teams lost some players.

So when all was said and done, Bama's class actually was...

3 5*
15 4*
8 3*

Not bad by any means, but also probably not the best class. NO worries though, I think Miami is in the same boat. Last I heard they had atleast 7 guys who probably won't qualify.

Okay, Gump, in one sentence you say....
quote:

We didn't "lose" anyone this year

and follow it up with....
quote:

nobody we lost was supposed to be a contributor so get your facts straight.

You got jealous of other people owning you, so you decided to jump in and own yourself. You make Gump nation proud.

Funny how after they're gone, you say they'd never have played anyway, but when you signed them, you were slobbering all over their balls.

So how much money will Rivlas charge Gumps to raise 4 players to 5*?

And West Virginia has been a much bigger program in College Football over the last 10 years than Bama. Saban would have given his left nut last year to have Pat White over JPW.

I agree that many schools lose recruits and it is certainly wise to sign a player or 2 as extras if their is a legit shot someone can't qualify or won't enroll.

I think he likes his body parts too much. But he needed more than a QB.
