I do believe we got played by a few people. I honestly did not want this Evans kid..and he will regret going to UGA. I mean Burton made a movie about his commitment to us lol.

Love Ricks, Arik obviously but I’m most excited about Sampah! He will ball for us!

In talking to my Georgia friends, they don't want him either. Will help overall class rank but they think the drama will be too high

Watch how fast they, or we, start loving him once he commits.

I’m never going to dog a recruit, it just looks like sour grapes after the fact. I’d still take him because he is so talented. But it does make one pause. The staff knows specific details so I just hope it’s not exactly how it looks as an outsider. The staff knows more about the situation and has dealt with this numerous times in the past so I’m just going to trust them to make the right decision if he decides to ride on down to Baton Rouge.

In general though, with these kids that seem to attract negative attention (a little positive attention is fine), I would be a little nervous the attitude of entitlement may overlap with work ethic. This is a college job now, so if you want to make it to the nfl, you have to work. Talent alone is not enough anymore. Some have it in high school (Stingley), figure it out the hard way their junior year, some never do. And some just hit their ceiling in high school and no amount of work ethic matters. That’s life. I wish all our current guys and signees the best of luck. They have an opportunity we all wish we had.

I’m probably in the minority but even if he ends up here, I’m not a fan of the kid and I have little confidence that he will finish his career where it starts

Speaking about Evans in case that’s not clear

Best lesson the staff probably learned from this recruiting cycle: Dont put all your eggs in one basket and end up shitting on your in-state guys. It creates bad blood for future in-state recruits and gives other major programs opportunities to build pipelines in Louisiana while we chase out of state guys.

How many players has LSU ever signed from Madison Prep and Live Oak?

I think those of us against the handling of this situation are not unaware of the point you’re making, but that’s not necessarily the totality of what we are talking about

There will be a perception of disloyalty used against us at every opportunity. The unfortunate part is it won’t just be negative recruitment, it’ll be based in historical fact.

I hope the coaches have a great explanation when moms and dads ask them about our true commitment to their sons.

Its a big picture concern for a lot of us and there wasn’t even a short term payoff for it.

Pretty disappointing

It isn’t just recruiting drama pointing to that. He got suspended and almost fought a coach on his own sideline once. Those are some pretty major red flags. If he doesn’t get major PT day one, he has the potential to go full on DEFCON 5.

Totally agree. I can’t foresee him ending his career where he starts it. There will inevitably be adversity and he’s gonna run away

Arent Jaqueline Roy and Major Burns best friends? Roy signed pretty early Wednesday.

Noel Ellis Sr (defensive coordinator at Edna Karr) swore up and down he was going to make sure nobody from New Orleans would go to LSU again after LSU turned down his son.

The point: nobody will care or remember next recruiting cycle, and local kids will be itching at the opportunity to play for the local national power.
