Just because Pocic is warm to Ohio State doesn't mean he is going there. Are the statements that he ends up there based on anything he has said? Or is it just an assumption because of where he lives?

Lots of kids from that are want nothing more than to leave.

Not saying he isn't an Ohio Stat lean but what is that based on?

WTF??? When you put your cursor over the LSU logo where his visit timeline is...the name Jordan Jefferson comes up. Seriously.

Yes. I agree. Just like I'm sure a lot of people assumed Joe Barksdale was more than likely to stay up north as well.

I wasn't directing that portion of my post at you but more to those that usually defend Ensminger with the "his contacts with LA hs coaches" line. That is generally the only defense for him. I'm sure he's a good guy and is good for comraderie on the staff but in the end it comes down to production and job performance. He's not pulling his weight unless he's some behind the scenes genius that is truly running the program under our noses or is the true "elite" recruiter on the staff without taking credit. He doesn't pull recruits and his position is either the worst or 2nd worst on the team. The fact that he's still on the staff speaks more of Les' loyalty and unwillingness to cut dead weight in a quick manner more than Ensiminger's bringing real value to the staff imo. Maybe I'm wrong and it wouldn't be the 1st time nor the last but there are a ton of LSU people that feel the same way I do. Some with close access to the staff.

The Pocic/OSU stuff mainly comes from the analysts that have interviewed and covered him. Sometimes they just get a feel for where a kid's leaning and OSU is that team for Pocic. I don't think he's a lock or heavy OSU lean but I do think they are his clear leader at the moment. Hopefully we can change that today and tommorow.

Ensminger is basically just cashing checks and cooking barbecue now. He pretty much stopped recruiting and coaching even before he came to LSU. One of the reasons he was brought on staff was that he was thought of as being able to provide maybe some additional help with our QBs because our QB coach obviously was not getting it done.

I agree with you, not to say Ensminger brings no value, I just don't see what he brings to the table. I have not seen him as a productive recruiter, Adam Henry has done more then him with such little time. Its hard to judge tight ends coaching considering we had a struggling passing game.

Ensminger is here for two reasons:

1. his pulled pork
2. since Monken and Henson left, Les has to get someone to tell him when he can and can't call timeouts

He said it was "awesome"..."had a great time" and he wants to come back for a game.

So, taking his words into consideration along with how his recruiting has been proceeding, I expect him to stay open until close to NSD. Big Ten schools are all over this guy...especially Ohio State but also Illinois, Iowa, Michigan. Wisconsin (who he really likes).

This is a HUGE get in a position of need. However, we have a ways to go and I think we'll be holding our breath on this kid come signing day. Just seems like he may have gotten caught up in the hoopla this weekend.
