This isn't usually a good thing.

In his case it is. His dad isn’t one of those overbearing dads that kill a kids passion for the game.
I’ve gotten to know them over the last 4 years and they are really great people, Eli is an awesome kid both on and off the field. I’m not saying it translates to him being an all American in college but he’s very athletic, smart, and studies the game like a pro. Those are three good thing to have in the program.

Agree with everything you said.

This board likes to shite on him because he went to Bama. Nothing but sour grapes. He’s made excellent choices for his career and it’s wide open whether he ever takes the reins for Saban or not.

Get a grip. His parents are from Baton Rouge. They moved to Lafayette because of his moms job. She got offered a job with an anesthesia group when they took over Ocshner in Baton Rouge. They chose Zachary because the anesthesia group is based in Zachary and she said Eli didn’t want to go back to private schools. She works there now and the dad works for the school system. The kid started high school in Zachary in 9th grade. Never went to high school with Walker Howard. She laughs about that story line when asked about it at work. They’re good people and want the best for their kids just like all of you do. Don’t get the continued obsession with the Holstein scared of Howard story and scared to compete. So Alabama was the easier route? He could have gone to a TCU or Baylor for that story line. Come on. Maybe Alabama was just a better choice.

At this point I dont know if Saban sticks around long enough for Holstein to get the reigns...

so he wouldn’t have to play behind Walker Howard.

What would Holstein be as a recruit if he had sat behind Walker Howard? A tenth of what he is now. Why cant you imbeciles see that?
