Especially considering the position. If someone with that list in mind wants to play for the best then it's no doubt LSU. The only flaw is having so much talent there... And I won't down a kid but if he wants an easy spot then he doesn't have the chest to compete here.
I think he will be here when it's all said and done.

For one reason or another there's been a lot of noise made in recent weeks about the validity of claims to Oregon and USC offers, fwiw.

we don't care, he's a beast and we need a DT. Neither was in his top 4 anyway

Agree but also think the validity(or not) of those 2 offers could play a part in that. USC has a ton of noncommittable offers out and it's hard to know which are the valid ones unless you're on one of their sites. I've got a good USC source and there a couple of good ones that post here so we should be able to find out who's at the top of the pecking order for them going forward.
I never know who Oregon has offers out to. They recruit so much differently than we and most of the schools I follow do. They are truly an evaluation style staff. Also doesn't help that I don't particularly keep up with many west coast kids.

Are we still in it with Adams or Manning at DT? I wonder how many DT's the staff wants in this class. Right now it's looking like Lawson, Gilmore, and Pagano. That is a pretty good DT class itself right there. Also, if, and that's a BIG if, we get someone like Manning, Adams, or Nkemdiche, that would have to be the best DT class in LSU history. Them, along with our potential DE's, is just scary for opposing offenses in the future

So you trust oregon defensive coaches over ours?

2-3 DTs
3-4 DEs

Were still very much in it for Manning and Adams. Also remember that its only May and this football season will attract those top guys to LSU even more. It wouldnt shock me for us to finish with Nkemdiche, Adams, Gilmore, Williams, and Prevot knowing how badass this defense is going to look this year

Scott Pagano, who named LSU his favorite this past weekend and has picked up nearly 50 offers. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound prospect checks in at No. 104. Honolulu (Hawaii) Moanalua defensive tackle Scott Pagano enters the Rivals250 at No. 104. "Pagano has some of the best junior film in this class," Rivals.com West analyst Adam Gorney said. "The reason he wasn't included in the initial rankings was because we had not seen his highlight tape; right after the release, we got our hands on it and knew he was going to be an immediate addition this time around. Pagano has size, strength, speed and he plays with ferociousness. And we always like to see that from defensive tackles."

I lived in Hawaii for a few years and those islanders stick together. If we land this guy, having two on roster could have big implications for future guys.
Did you know that 1 in 58 somoan boys grows up into an nfl player?

He says he's not announcing until the army game and he's recently been offered by fsu, ou, and Texas is expected to be next.

Guys, unfortunately, do not read too much into his comments at this time. Pagano is all over the board-- he is soaking in the attention-- but his chances of leaving the Pacific region are very slim.
After the May evaluation period, he has NOT received a USC offer. They want him to camp at USC and evaluate him further before possibly tendering one.
Also, Pagano is not an islander. He grew in San Diego and is a USC fan.
The concensus is that if USC offered they would be the favorite.
However you never know...

2015 Honolulu DE LSU needs to look at while recruiting Scott Pagano.
Told Chris Fetters of Scout he "his favorite conference right now is the SEC because of the way the teams in that conference play defense and their ruthlessness."
Already has offers from Hawaii & Utah. Syracuse, Texas Tech, and UCLA have been talking with him. . BeRecruited profile shows he has three brothers playing college ball.
Two year old Youtube Haka dance video He's the little guy on the right.

Pagano says he's going to take official visits to LSU, Florida State and Baylor. He says LSU is his current favorite with Florida State in second.
"Both schools have a great history of developing strong players and it's just crazy they would be recruiting me from all the way in Hawaii," Pagano said. "Those schools can get so many four-star and five-star kids close by so it's really an honor to be considered."

LSU is getting an official visit from Montravius Adams 6'3" 290 Vienna, GA (Dooly County)
Sounds like he is interested in some of the same teams.

DL Montravius Adams of Vienna, GA made another trip to Auburn this past Saturday and is working on some trips he will make this summer. Clemson, he said, will definitely get one.
“I still feel good about Clemson,” said Adams who has about 50 offers. He talked with Clemson recruiter Robbie Caldwell last week.
Adams said Alabama also will get a visit this summer. He has also decided on three of his official visits…LSU, Oregon and Southern Cal. He does not have a leader and won’t make a decision until after his season.

Not sure how you got that out of what I posted but I'll answer anyway. No I don't trust Oregon's staff more than ours. I just said that they are an evaluation type staff and that mainly comes down to them not being major players for a ton of nationall style recruits. They are becoming more and more involved with major prospects but have heavily relied on finding sleeper type prospects. Va Tech like. That was the meaning behind my calling their recruiting an evaluation style. The find diamonds in the rough or undersized but athletic guys and fill them in.
