He's apparently an early enrollee too.

Yeah, I read that in the AJC article. It would be nice to have one of those classes for a change, ala Miami this year.

Son,

Understand that UGA has already told you that they want you and have a slot for you by offering you a scholarship.

Also understand that there are dozens of players out there with as much talent and potential as you, so the spot may not be there in june. UGA only has 13 spots to fill. Drop the attitiude and make a good decission.

Along with being on the track team (i would imagine a sprinter) and a 3.2GPA student.
Solid pick up IMO

I'm liking these couple of early enrollees, they're less likely to decommit, as they need to make their decisions now.

I thought Drayton was an FSU lock. What gives?
(Sorry. Couldn't resist)

he said it's a "done deal", had the family with him on his visit, wants to focus on track. doesn't sound like decommitting will be an issue with him since he already has the other big offers, he had nothing to wait for.

Tucker’s Calhoun to visit LSU
By Jeff Hood | Thursday, February 21, 2008, 07:53 PM
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Fresh off junior day visits to Alabama, Florida and Georgia, Tucker running back/athlete Drayton Calhoun travels to Baton Rouge this weekend to visit LSU.
“I’m really just trying to go out there and see what it’s like,” said Calhoun, who is being recruited primarily as a defensive back. “It’ll be a good experience.”
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound junior has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Stanford and Vanderbilt.
Calhoun is focusing his attention on six programs.
“Right now, my top five are LSU, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Auburn,” he said. “And you can add Clemson to that list.”
Calhoun said he will commit in early May or late June. He is fully aware that two of his favorites will have small recruiting classes in 2009, including Georgia which will sign only 13 or 14 players next February.
“That concerns me,” Calhoun said. “But I’m just still not really trying to push it. If Georgia really wants me, they should have a spot there for me. But it does concern me.
“The only other school that I heard will have a small class is Alabama.”

LSU hasn't had too much trouble keeping out of state recruits once they committed. D. Thomas left b/c we took another QB, then DC Jefferson left b/c we got J. Jefferson. I don't remember really losing many other guy...Shugarts maybe, but i dont remember if he was a commit or not. We may have led with other out of state guys that didn't sign with us, but very few commit and then change their pledge.
I really just mean in general, not LSU. It's just that so much can happen in a year. We'll see.

this guy already had offer from georgia, florida (went to their junior day a couple weeks ago), alabama, pretty much everyone, and yet he still committed to LSU. I would say its safe to say he will stay committed unless something strange happens. If georgia hadnt offered yet then I would be concerned.
