Unfortunately that’s not how it works in this new era of college football. If you don’t pay out you can forget LSU ever fielding a championship level team. LSU will just be stuck with Music City Bowl caliber teams from now on.

If anyone wants to throw their money away by giving to Bayou Traditions, go right ahead.

Personally, I find the existence of such a fund distasteful. I’m not giving my hard earned money to an organization that may use a percentage of it to entice a 17 year old kid to play for a university that I paid handsomely to attend myself. Especially when there is no guarantee he won’t bolt at a moment’s notice.

If paying players is the most important thing in college football now, LSU should hire less expensive coaches, spend less on facilities and use all that money to buy athletes instead.

If we had a $1mil coach and used $9mil on the roster, do you think we’d be better or worse than 8-4?

I'll never donate to a fund so we can pay players with this culture today. Football is entertainment. Win or loss, it does not matter to me.

Every fan in LA could donate $50/month & it will remain nothing compared to the wealth of one guy like Larry Ellison or Phil Knight. I donate small amounts annually, but there is no scenario where we outbid Michigan for Underwood if that’s what you were thinking. You can’t physically fathom how much wealth Larry Ellison has.

It’s not always about winning the bid - sometimes is about making them truly pay up and limit resources elsewhere.

Everyone who criticizes the program needs to donate.

Those of us who support the team equally regardless of record can do as they please.

Think of it as just donating to their Reggie’s fund as incoming freshman.

Why can't we do this? What's the excuse?

We all pay an arse ton for auto insurance already. Gordon eventually gets those premiums we pay.

I'm already donating. Gordon just gets to look like LSU Jesus with my money.
