As I understand it, until it’s federally passed and the NCAA makes their decision, they can’t be paid.

Basically, Louisiana has to figure it out by the time it’s federal law and the NCAA figures out exactly how to regulate it, or LSU is fricked.

The university can’t pay them legally, from my understanding some outside business can for their NIL. U recruiting me to go to your university to tell me you won’t give me a scholarship?

Georgia trying to take 75% of the endorsement deal from the student athlete.

This still doesn't change NCAA rules. It just means that if and when the NCAA decides to allow it, they will already have things squared away from a state-law perspective. The NCAA is still yet to make that move.

No advantage. We’re paying key guys a quarter of a million dollars per year. They don’t care about that chump change.

College sports will no longer be “amateur” sports, so sad everything had to get ruined.

Disheartening, one of the main reasons to watch college sports over pro-sports if for the “amateur” aspects of college sports. Now like everything else it will mostly be about who can pay the most.

If y’all thought there was cheating in recruiting before hand, y’all ain’t seen nothing. What was $250k to get studs to commit, that bar will soon be a million. So sad, greed ruins everything.

I get what you're saying and agree on the premise but college basketball and football on the top levels haven't been amateur in a long time. This facade of "it's about the student athletes" has long been played out. It's about money. Truth be told, I'd venture that a great majority of fans don't care anyway. We just want success no matter the means. Jmo

The schools don't have to give scholarships, as a generalization.

Why does everyone believe they have some say so in others business arrangements?

Meh unless it magically made their coaches better then no. Georgia constantly has the top
Recruiting classes the last 5 years anyway. Doubt SC has a class in the top 10.

Well that isn’t exactly true, it has been about amateurism for the most part. Has there been cheating? Absolutely! So I get what you are saying about the “amateur” side of that, but you still had tons of school spirit involved! All you have to do to see it is look at all the ex-college athletes that go back to their schools and support their schools. I think that goes away with the “highest” bidder mentality that will happen because of these new rules.
