It's the coaches job to sell the school and program, not himself. Some people look for those relationships, though.

Blame this on the Media or Les Miles and Nick Saban?
This is how the recruiting war over Dylan Moses began. young kid caught in the middle had no clue what a recruiting war was
please tell me again how can you blame the kid?
this is a loaded question. Miles has been here for 12 years most of todays recruits were babies when he first began coaching the tigers in 2005 so all they know is Les Miles. same holds true for Nick Saban. 2007 was 9 years ago. the average teen would be 8 or younger in 2007.
all they have heard about is Les Miles, Nick Saban. how can you fault a kid for liking the Coach connected to a particular in either one of these instances?
when the HC stay at their respective schools for as long as these two guys then they are the reason that the kid likes the school in the first place. especially when there is heavy interaction between the kid and coach. This is a difficult question for anyone to answer.
tell you what though this kid has nerves of steel because all of this recruiting stuff is mind numbing. and he grew up in this stuff. between insane fans and his own desires this shite would drive the average kid bat shite crazy!

I'm sorry but at the end of the day I don't buy the argument by Moses that he would have chosen LSU if Miles was here. He stated throughout the process he wanted to go to a team that would develop his skills. He's all business (his words) and that's how he would make his decision.
That being said, anyone that believes Les has a knack for technical development of players is delusional. Especially on the D side of the ball. LSU players getting to the NFL will not be directly affected by Les' departure. Key and Beckwith will both be potential Top 15. Aranda who is known for his penchant to develop stars out of his LBs will crank out NFL ready products on a regular basis.
JMHO, but I think Les is being used as his scapegoat for him picking the team he was already going to choose. Too bad too. Saban will make you a cog in the machine. Aranda would make him a star.

I can see how the decision for Dylan became so highly focused on the coaches rather than the establishments since his relationships has been so long withstanding and much of his decision making has been geared heavily toward his confidence level of each coaching staff. I can only imagine the fruits must be mighty tasty of having a relationship for 5 years with a coach and seeing all the success that's been during that time. I have no doubt that Nick will say and do whatever it takes to keep Dylan's commitment. I wouldn't be surprised if he even starts teaching to be a man of his word now (how convenient). Funny that didn't happen when Dylan stated he wanted to push back his commitment date.
If Saban's version of success is what Dylan wants, then yes he should go. Go and have a great career and be a part of Saban's story.
But you cant have it both ways. There is no going to bama and still be appreciated here, it's just not how it works, the resentment is just too strong considering our past.
So why is the opportunity better here? It's an easy answer With a deep meaning. He has the opportunity to be a difference maker and become a legend. What difference is he gonna make at bama? This is one of the main reasons why LSU players do so much better in the NFL than bama players, cause they play with heart.
