The truth is that all third-party observers who study recruiting agree that Saban and Bama outrecruited us by a wide margin this season (unless you are one of those who believe that all of the recruiting services are colluding against LSU). Not positive. The truth is that we were dismantled by Alabama in the NCG by a score of 21-0. Not positive. The truth is that Bama has won two of the last three NC's. Not positive

And ALL of this screams Bama fan.....

We were #1 for the majority of the season....beat Bama in T-Town.....MADE the NC game....and won the SEC.

POSITIVE

The Bama love on this site is what draws the most ire......

We'll be fine

Not to steal ya'lls thunder, but if there was an award for whiny-bitch fanbase I think my Aggie brethren would, at the very least, get strong consideration for top honors.

That being said, EVERY teams internet fans are little bitches, the real barometer are the flesh and blood fans. In that regard I would put LSU as some of the best I've ever met.

Just my two cents, add another 9 bucks and you can buy a Starbucks...

Objectivity is a human impossibility. Your post is colored with your feelings for LSU whether you choose to see it that way or not. LSU fans should not allow the success of Bama to sum up how things are going for the tigers. Saban is the best coach in college ball and that's just how it is. Miles will continue to be a thorn in his arse and LSU will still be very good. The doom and gloom is a little much. We should love LSU football because we love LSU football, not because of championship prospects or LSU's success vs Bama.

Yes, you've ferretted me out with your Holmesian deduction. I'm a Bama fan. The LSU season tickets and the closet full of purple and gold attire and the autumnal sojourns to places like Oxford and Dallas and Athens to watch the Tigers play are a carefully orchestrated, assiduously maintained twenty year front. I admit it, I'm a deep cover Bama fan. I'm so deep under cover that when I went to the NCG, I wore LSU gear and sat in the LSU section. And when Bama won, instead of celebrating with my brethren, I staggered back to my hotel and lamented the outcome. That's how dedicated I am to my craft. Tinker Tailor Soldier Tide.

But you're right, my Bama fanaticism is clearly demonstrated by my audacity in pointing out indisputable facts from recent history. And if there was any lingering doubt about my allegiances, well, they must be dispeled by my disappointment at today's recruiting developments. After all, only a true Bama fan would be upset that Bama took two of the three top recuits in the state of Louisiana and finished with the top class in the nation. No real LSU fan would ever harbor such sentiments. Indeed, judging from this board, real, manly, virile LSU fans celebrate the loss of marquee in-state recruits with loud whoops and swaggering posts proclaiming the future to be bright.

But I think some LSU fans take it to a new level.

i agree. but we're not the only program. tennessee fans are pretty intense. auburn, uga, florida, bama, texas, florida st.... some pretty passionate fan bases. we are exposed to our own more than any and posting on an lsu board so it is maximized so much.

this is football, too. more than half of these '100% LOYAL LSU FANS!!!11' probably give less than a quarter of a shite if the basketball or tennis team sucks. the success of the program is one of the few things a lot of ppl from podunk arse little towns like pine prairie and gueydan have to be proud of in life. that's another reason why fricking college baseball is so popular down here in this region.

i mean look at texags right now(i would if me and my 1,428 IPs weren't perma-banned from there) they just lost a recruit to fricking tulane

another thing is les. having been in school at ok state and around other student athletes i've been exposed to him a year or two longer than most lsu fans. the guy just has this thing about him where people either love him or hate him. i've always been somewhere in between. his wackiness and awkwardness is cute when you're 13-0 but as soon as that first loss comes and you lose those top recruits, the haters will hate and they will hate big time.

i just feel like you and i, having been soccer fans for so long can relate to retarded fans a little better

I was listening to Mark Packer on College Sports Radio/XM this morning. An Ohio State fan called in and talked about how they had the worst fans in the country for bitching and moaning...referenced the whole Terrell Pryor thing and said they'd find a way to dis Urban Meyer.

We're all too close to our own situations and see only the negatives sometimes.
