Do we have a decent backup plan if LF goes elsewhere?

I hate myself for even asking this but who else are we looking at? I know we have a couple instate kids that we like but they don't seem to be featured backs on this level.

Darrel Williams is probably it. He likely ends up in the class either way.

If LF goes elsewhere, with only Magee and maybe Hilliard returning after next season, RBs will be lining up to take LF's spot.

. LF has worked hard to be in the fortunate position of being coveted by the biggest programs and deserves the right to make his decision at the time of his choosing. I mean, NSD is the deadline, so what obligation does he or any other high school student have to commit earlier than that

I don't think so. One of the premiere programs in America has opened (wide open) a slot for this player to come and show America what he can do. If he doesn't take the opportunity, every top running back in the country will want that open slot next year.

We might be hurting at RB until next year if this happens because it will be too late to pick up a premier back.A little perspective though people. Amazingly, we could still miss out on LF and Cam Rob and STILL have a top 5 class... Not that it wouldn't severely sucks if that happened.

We have a backup plan I'm sure but we're not gonna need it. Fournette will be at LSU.

Williams is a very good option that likely will be in the class anyway. He'd be the top back in most school's classes.

The options after that are not really known at this point but I'm sure the staff has kept in contact with a few guys. Roc Thomas would likely be the guy they pressed the most if Fournette went elsewhere. We're already on him pretty hard and that would get heavily ramped up if the staff thought Fournette was leaning elsewhere.

I think the lack of info on other options tells you just how good the staff feels about their standing with LF. If we start seeing more talk of other guys after the summer then we may need to take it serious. My personal belief is that Fournette will tip his hand to the staff in the summer and their actions afterward will tell you all that is needed to know.
