Mathis said that he did not choose LSU because he never spoke to his position coach. If you don't think that Jenkins' age, or lack of connection with these kids is an issue, then you just want to bury your head in the sand. Yes, he knows a shite ton about coaching the DL, but his knowledge can be used in a consultant role.

My whole topic was started based on recruiting! This is the recruiting forum, right?

No doubt about it. We need to fix these areas in recruiting immediately or this will be an issue for several years. DL, DE and NT not just bodies either, we need Studs here, JC or HS but studs. QB we need at least one more Elite QB. MLB, we need more bigger guys like we picked up last year not the smaller quick guys but the big thumpers to push the LOS back. We need the smart OTs, and possibly OGs as well. We need more safeties to provide depth behind what we picked up in 17. If LSU can close strong in these areas and then load up in these areas again with some top 10 type of players at these positions, LSU should improve.

This needs to be LSUs main focus for the nest 4 classes IMO. Be relentless in these areas. Then keep up with the recruiting at the other skill potions and we should be ok.

This team can and should pull this thing back together, and if that happens then I think LSU is in good hands. They need to have a players/coaches meeting, be real with one another, don't point fingers, take responsibility, own it, fix it, come back strong in the following weeks, to build that confidence back up.

Canada needs to do a better job period. Yes we were killed by flags which shouldn't have been called in many cases but we also earned some as well. If the refs are giving you a hard time that's the time when you watch even more carefully not be more careless, and stupid. Canada needs to let this offense fly around, do things which break tendency, get them on their heels, go fast and use all our players not just Chark, Williams, and Guice. Use more drag routes where the WR can use his speed to get open and he's running right in front of the QB. Use routes going in multiple directions to fool the defense and have an outlet at all times. Don't let Etling change things up at the line bc he's not doing a very good job. Make him look at the whole field.

I saw some good things on offense and defense so it's not like we can't do it or can't fix the issues, they can be fixed. We were extremly successful on many occasions which was followed by HUGE penalties. The front seven has to play more aggressive and when the outside guy hold the edge to force the ball carrier inside there has to be someone there to fill that gap. Corners need to play zone much tighter and even man much more tight. Safeties need to learn that their position is to never let the offense behind them. Lots of fixing to do but we have a stretch of games to do just that and come back with a vengeance. If I were O I would tell them that this season has just started over literally. Forget everything that happened on Saturday and let's reset this thing again.

I would tell them that they know better than to believe that this is who we are and that we can bounce back in a big way IF you want it bad enough. If you don't want it like I do then you can just pack your stuff now. If you do want it like I do then I got your back all the way. Lets go Tigers

Isaiah Bugg is the player that would have made a big difference this year. Next year will be better with the Texas tech transfer and shelvin added to Lawrence, Farrell, Thomas, Ed Alex, Glen Logan
