Unless we lose commits... there will be nothing disappointing about this class at all.

People have been saying this for 3-4 months now. We need to wait til NSD. Even if we dont get any of those guys we will still prob get a few surprise or even get a guy like chuck hunter. I wouldnt be disappointed with that.

Dan said it. No way to be disappointed with this class unless we lose one of our current commits. Any other commits are lagniappe at this point. With that said we are gonna get Rasco and or Mickey.

I figure this was the best place for this question.

I was told today that the LSU staff informed Mickey that it will be Jernigan or bust at Defensive Tackle, and that he will not be receiving a "legit" offer. Thus why he decided to make his decision this Friday instead of NSD.

I would imagine someone is speculating as to the reason why he may be committing on Friday. Can't imagine we turn Mickey away in the bust situation.

Everyone is saying that we always close well and that Miles always pulls in that NSD surprise. But i am saying what happens if we don't get that surprise this year.

You end up with a top five class????

But really, it may be better that we stay with a small class.

What should we be waiting for? ..or are you referring to being forced to imply greyshirts?

He wasn't speculating. He is usually right. He said that Miles and the staff is very happy with the DL class they have gathered this year, and will not take another DL unless it is Rasco or Jernigan. TIFWIW

I'm sure the staff feels very good about our chances with Rasco and Jernigan. Your info may very well be correct. This is a nice problem to have.

I would love to end with only one of the following:

CJ
Jernigan
Rasco

But you have to look at the class as a whole and did we fill our needs with guys that project to be viable replacements, then future starters.

This is not sour grapes if we don't land them because I would love to land them. But we have players like:

Freak
La'el
Hilliard
Mett

I am just hoping that there are no negative surprises from the list that we already have.

Don't be stubborn Miles. We need another DT. I hope this means they are super confident in Jernigan.

Cmon man. Trust your coach. He knows what we need. If there is anything Miles should be criticized about recruiting isn't one of them.

I don't know why people keep saying we'll land MJ with Rasco. It doesn't look that way. The only person on that list that it seems we're getting is Rasco with a possibility at Jernigan. Mj won't be apart of this class, looks like LSU passing on him. Maybe they were informed by Jernigan already or they're just extremely confident. That or it is the opposite and MJ is committing LSU Friday. Don't see it though...

I thought DT was a pretty big need in this class and the fact we only landed really Freak there means we're going to need to take several next year. I'm guessing this means that if we don't get anymore DTs in this class, Davenport is probably staying. Otherwise, we're going to be unbelievably thin there next year. Thomas might not even play DT and I'd imagine he is going to be a guaranteed RS since he didn't even play ball his Senior year.

If this is true I don't like it. So, if we miss on TJ, we are going to be content with 3 players total on the front 7 levels of the defense; Freak, Quentin Thomas, and Trevon Randle. And 1 of those guys didn't even play this year at Breaux Bridge.

I have no information, but it has been pretty clear that LSU has been slow playing him from the beginning. So, what you heard makes sense.
