oh jesus, let's get one thing straight: there is absolutely no difference between qualifying at UA and qualifying at LSU. Same university standards, same NCAA standards. I realize UA can't get him in at mid-term like he apparently wanted to, but neither can LSU. No spots there and as we all know he wouldn't qualify anyway. The only reason Bama would cut ties is if they don't want to take a shot on a non-qualifier because it would frick up the numbers if he got through, but LSU is playing the same numbers game too. Both programs know how to manage that stuff, but Bama is particularly adept.
If he goes to LSU it is because he wants to be at LSU over Bama, not because of a qualifying issue. Be a man, BuccWild.

Oh wow lol never said there was any difference and I think I stated he would be a Tiger IF LSU can squeeze him in meaning that will likely be the team he chooses. I'm not saying he is going to LSU because we turned him away, he has an equal interest in both at this point.

LSU has a better than good shot, and Bama still wants him however there are issues (a jumbled up transcript from switching mid-term to prep school) with qualifying, not grades which are fine, think Alfy Hill type situation LSU was his 2nd choice and if they can get him in he'll be a Tiger
Your post is full of "he might go to LSU because he can't get into Alabama." That is a very accurate paraphrase of the above quote. If LSU "can get him in," then Bama can "get him in." Simple as that.

I didn't read it like that...just a matter of numbers at this point is what he is saying.

Does anyone else think it's hilarious that Rivals dropped Mcneil from a 4 star to a 3 star last week when he started looking around?

I didn't mean thaty though, what I meant is BOTH schools are looking at number crunching right now & Bama was straight up with him about his transcript issues likely not getting him in (like the staff was with Alfy Hill) & he has chosen to look elsewhere & likes LSU, they have told him different, no knocks on them accepting kids etc, just stating the way the situation is right now

If the gumps can get Eddie Lacey in school and keep him eligible they can get anyone eligible.

The Rivals drop was because he is a longshot to qualify. Has nothing to do with him looking around. He's a longshot to see any D1 campus next year.
For that reason, LSU fans should hold off on any excitement about McNeil. He basically committed but much like Courtney Gardner, don't expect him to ever be a Tiger. Remain hopeful but not expectant. If one or both of those kids get in then just let it be a huge bonus and suprise. Only disappointment will come if we start expecting them to be Tigers.
