LSU was frankly fortunate that 1/2 was not closer to signing day.

Had signing day been closer to 1/2 LSU would have played their cards differently...by quite a bit.

Hootie was told by Bama freshmen (Kamara) that if they had to do it over again they wouldn't sign with Bama, and that gave him second thoughts.

Look at the evans switch to Auburn on NSD.

Saban is pulling outall the lowlife moves.

He plays dirty and would slice his mothers throat to get a 5 star.

The man has the morals of a rabbit on crack.

I doubt he was offered a greyshirt. With that said, I do believe he wanted to commit to LSU and the coaches weren't having it. Maybe because he led them on as well.

Hope the coaches continue with that. If you frick around and go to a rivasl, LSU will move on and replace you with someone just as good or better.

Shame that fans who having a raging hard on for kids staying in state do not see that.

Hootie told Les he was committing to LSU and then actually committed to Bama later that day. I think the story of him decommitting to screw LSU is bullshite.

hootie's decommitment was a ploy to prevent LSU from getting Adams and trying to court two safeties. We were smarter than that.

Look at the timeline. Hootie commits to bama. LSU goes after even better safety and makes serious headway. Hootie decommits and reaches out to LSU. LSU does not answer. Adams gets more and more pro LSU, and pulls the trigger Jan 2. Hootie recommits to bama that night.

I can't believe people seriously believe this shite.

Greyshirt to an EE? Nah. Next question I want to hear about Hootie is "Why did LF just truck your arse?"

Amen to that!

Definitely hope LSU continues this. If you move on from us we will move on from you. No hard feelings until game day.

Goldrush and bowtie have it right. Kamara said some things to Hootie and other visitors that weekend about Saban not caring about his players and that they were just pieces of meat and that if he had a choice he wouldn't have picked Bama. Kamara was booted shortly thereafter. Hootie never played games with LSU. He played the game wrong by thinking we would jump all over him when he decommitted and we didn't so he landed back at Bama.

Way too many conspiracy theories as it pertains to Bama. Dwight did contact us after he was asked to greyshirt and then OJ agreed to look around so Dwight got his spot back. The greyshirts were offered because both are grade risks and they thought Elam was coming. Didnt want to sign those guys in case they landed too many.

This is it. The truth is our staff did not care if they got hootie or not! He was just packaging for CRob. We didn't offer Sims cuz we were not taking 2 extras to get 1 OT that may or may not pan out. Once CRob was done, so was hootie to LSU. I know that's tough for in state star gazers but they did not want him.

Nope. You are wrong. They did want Hootie. It had nothing to do with Cameron Robinson. You can argue that Cam Simms should have been offered for CRob, but that wasn't the case with Hootie. Hootie has all the measurables any school would want and was offered by every major program. LSU did want Hootie and he committed to Bama.

LSU ended up getting with a better prospect in J Adams after the fact. Hootie's senior film was not very impressive, and LSU moved on to the better prospect in J Adams. LSU did not respond to Hootie after he decommited from Bama and wanted to come to Baton Rouge. LSU had already moved on.....but in the beginning, LSU was very into Hootie.... As was everyone else. It had nothing to do with CRob.

Only LM knows for sure, but it does make for interesting conversation. Lsu did come out on top in the end. I do believe Kamara got it right.
