Losing out on Quill and Cam will be a huge disappointment from all the hype we have been getting fed the past 2 yeara on this board. With that said, this will still be one of the best classes ever just not what we hoped and was told everyday on this board. I think that's a fair statement.

So if he is a luxury, how can you say that there was "no reason" to take him? If we sign this kid, people would be yelling for him to start day 1. He's a special talent.

It sucks that he is going to auburn....I would have loved to have him but I totally understand...given his personal situation and needing to get away from LA, I can't blame him....
I just wish we didn't have to play against him...but at the end of the day, I just hope he is 1 and done...don't want to see him twice bc he is a monster!
At least he has committed today and we don't have to keep speculating about whether or not he will be in this class.
I will gladly take Noil, Dupre, Quinn, Blacknall, Upchurch....with a sprinkle of Voorhies and Chark

He was supposedly one of the best receivers to come out of Louisiana. I don't know any way he could have helped.
Do you really think he's the difference between a national championship and going 10-3? Because I don't. I look at this way, he'll be awesome but only for one year when we are trying to break in a new QB, while on the other hand Noil, Dupre, Quinn etc will have years to establish a rhythm with Jennings, Harris or Rettig. I highly doubt Quille would have made such a huge difference.
ETA: And we aren't losing out on Cam you negative pussy.

I would much rather have Noil, Dupre, Quinn, Upchurch and Blacknall for 3-4 years than one year of Quille.
Yeah I would rather 3-4 years of Travin Dural than 1 year of Cordarelle Patterson too... Give me a break.

I would say Speedy is a type of impact player like Quille

I would take D. Williams and Cam Rob over any other player we are recruiting at their position as far as pure talent. This was a good pick up for Auburn if he shows up.

Okay..I'm going to step in and be that guy
Nearly every single post you make on this board is about how this class is going to be the greatest ever, we are going to sign all these 5*s, and all that ridiculous crap
Don't throw a hissy fit on this board if LSU doesn't sign the class you put on a pedestal 7 months before signing day.

So Dural = the number 1 and 2 receivers in the country along with possibly the player with the most receiving yards in American high school history? I would love to get Quille but this isn't on par with losing Fournette or Cam like some of y'all are making it out to be.

I'm not saying this is on par with losing LF. We need LF more than anyone in this class IMO.
My point is toward people minimizing this to be that we're really not losing anything. Anyone who has followed a small amount of Quille knows how special of a talent he is, and I would like to have that talent on my team and not on a divisional rivals team, no matter who is also coming in at his position.

He's an incredible talent at WR no doubt about it and it does suck he's going to Auburn, but this probably isn't going to be some massive blow when it really wouldn't have made that much of a difference outside of next season.

lulz. For one speedy is rated higher on 247 and rivals
2. What's so "wow" about that statement?
3. Derp

too bad, he sounded like a special talent
my bias is LSU has a higher ceiling and he could make an even bigger name for himself here... but he'll do well at Auburn and get drafted assuming no injuries get in the way

Quille and Noil, while both very impactful, are completely different players. I would never compare the two.

They are both play makers at their position

As we realize, you can't sign them all and it appeared non-football circumstances were working against Williams signing with LSU.
Hope he plays well at Auburn, except for the LSU game.
At least, he has now made a commitment somewhere & the WR recruiting focus can return to Noil, Quinn, Dupree, etc.

Yes, so are Patrick Willis and Adrian Peterson.
