I agree with you. Maybe what the poster was attempting to say is that historically Les struggles to commit to players that have off the field issues to work through. It was partially the reason Lsu lost Darrington Sentimore and Eddie Lacey to Bama a few years back. Once the off the field issues were worked out, the push Lsu made was too late.

I am not sure whether the smoking story is true but his off the field issues have been documented. I hope Devante will learn from his past like all of us should and make some good life choices moving forward.

B/c the sarcasm in your posts makes you come off like a kid that never gets picked in a pick up game, or has to have their dad coach so they make the team.

Like many others have said, I’d rather see a stud go to LSU versus Texas or OU. Any A&M guy over here that thinks LA is open season is fooling themselves, and will be forever. LSU can only sign so many, and remember how many bad asses ya’ll produce every year, so knock the chip of your shoulder and be glad that LA is getting repped well outside of the rivers.

I'll agree with that. Wild Turkey makes things appear not always as they are.

Plus I am trying to get some joy out of the NBA playoffs, which ultimately leads to more crazy bird. I'm a hit with the wife right now let me tell you!!

in the end, of course you want the kid to do well no matter where he goes. if not LSU, then some place that fits the kid well and won't hurt LSU on the field.

unless the kid is being influenced by a balding oil changer at wal mart, then i wish the kid well.

Well said and I agree 100%.

Question, is this a swipe at Thibodaux/Aubie?

Okay,

So Aggies are cool with LSU taking a few from Texas every so often and LSU may not feel the same about A&M taking some Louisiana players

Louie T, laugh all you want.

I watched Edwin Simmons back in the day and Bourque is better.

Gray is great but has shoulder issues and runs behind a very stout line for his school classification.

Bourque is really good in my book.

Well them and t.u If you read what they have to say on these boards or their own forums. Its the same basic things over and over. EXCUSES! Why A&M or Coach Sherman got this guy or that guy from LA. Its almost as A&M is getting guys from LA by "default" Never giving the school, the program or the coaches any real "props" for getting it done. One thing I read was "Coach Miles is good for letting one blue chip prospect go each year" and the others I really like is "I'm just glad their not leaving for Texas or Alabama" For those at home that wanna know the score this means "A&M sucks let them have a blue chip player of ours" They assume that A&M will never get back on top of being in the top 10 year in and year out. One day they will hate us just as much as t.u and Alabama because we will get back to winning. What they fail to realize is this is JUST the way to get back to being on top. We already had one good season. Everyone returns next season minus Von really. You have to expect another good or great season. Recruiting is taking off and everyone but aggies are making excuses on why the aggies are getting good/great players from LA. Or why we're scoring great players in our own state. We have basically taken OUs class. In the past it was OU and t.u soaking it all up here in the great state of Texas. Now its t.u and A&M. And to take things even further this coaching staff can land guys that have offers from L$U and Arkansas that ARE from LA. Do tiger and horn fans think that yet after another good/great season (2011) that the Aggies will just slowly go back down to being a dweller team in football? Recruiting and coaching are key...those two things wont go away any time soon. It already appears that the class of 2013 is gonna be yet another good one for A&M. It will be entertaining to see their boards 5-10 years from now. Maybe sooner. I expect one bright fan to chime in during their discussions on the "How did they come up" One will say "well they started off just taking some 3-star recruits from LA...then from their they would take a blue chip....then it transformed into them taking several blue chip players each year" the others will all claim "cheating" but taking some "3stars" was the way to get it done. I read time and time again that these kids from LA commit to A&M and immediately call an Aggie football player after committing thats from the state of LA. The networking is there and thats big. Its like paving the way for more and more to come in the future. I see the 2010 season as the season that started it all. Meaning the season that got A&M back on track, the first of the many good to great seasons that are up ahead.

Back to you tiger fan. Keep making excuses and being naive.

Gotta love their enthusiasm. Congratulations to Devante and to the Aggies. He will be a good one for them.
