East Jefferson High defensive back Derrick Raymond was completely unknown two months ago. Now, he is the newest member of the LSU Tigers Football team after he committed on the spot to Les Miles on Saturday at the LSU Family Picnic.

Nice!

What does this mean for Monroe, Stewart, Batiste, and Brice? Is this the last CB we take?

There was an observer that believed Raymond's ball skills were at least equal to Landon Collins when they were at the Under Armour Combine together. That may be a stretch but that's an opinion that was floated to me.

From a Tigerbait mod, for what its worth..

Collins is the only for sure one. But I think guys like Quadry Antoine, Sandolph and the kid that did really good at the Houston combine (DB MVP for the whole thing, cant remember his name) will all compete for a Safety spot

I asked shea about the staff favoring sandolph over Antoine and he said he thinks that is the case . Antoine's size is a handicap

Earlier this month Raymond won the 100 and 200 meter state titles in 4A.

So Sandolph is definately a Safety, and not a CB?

Hmm, gotcha. Is he the second best safety in the state, next to Collins, in your opinion?

Idk, i'll wait to see how camp goes first . Never know who might impress the staff enough for an offer.
