Good we are still in the hunt everyone gets to put in there final bid seems like the auction did not have the asking price his squad was looking for .

Delaying can only be good news for LSU. Seeing as how we're pretty late to the party, getting a little more time to convince him it's in his best interest to come to LSU, win a Natty and be a 1st round pick in my opinion is absolutely a good thing.

If the commitment is that tenuous then the commitment in July is meaningless

Not hopeful. Most felt it would be us Saturday. Now we bid. ND gonna open the coffers? Don't believe Bama is as big a player as suggested. They're counting on Cunningham and bidding with Texas and FSU for Lockett. We'll see.

I need to quit posting in football recruiting threads lol. It seems like it’s almost always just a bidding war which suggests commitments in July are worthless anyway whether we get good news at that time or not.
I’ll check back in late November.

Yeah I’m sick of this NIL recruiting world. If not for NIL we’d have the clear cut #1 class with DK Moore, Picket, etc
This Meadows kid needs to look at the NFL and see how many Notre Dame WRs there are compared to:
Jefferson, Chase, Nabers, Thomas Jr, etc

Per Fong, notre dame, his original leader made a push and that’s the reason for the delay.

I knew about him but never had LSU would be in final 3. I just figured he was Notre Dame lock for sure. I was for sure looking at other WRs earlier in process like Moore, Ffrench, Lockett, Marsh, Cunningham, CJ Wiley, and a few Louisiana wrs. I'm happy we in a tight battle if we land him or not.
Have we ever had a WR from west coast? That's one reason I wasn't worried about him LSU mostly get WRs in-state, Texas, or Florida.

Five-star receiver Derek Meadows pushes back commitment date
Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame are the finalists for the five-star receiver from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman who plans to reveal a college commitment on July 20 on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
LAS VEGAS — The race for five-star receiver Derek Meadows has tightened and the elite playmaker has opted to push back his commitment date.
With finalists Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame in hot pursuit, the Top247 prospect from powerhouse Bishop Gorman is now set to reveal his college choice on July 20 at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT via the 247Sports YouTube channel. He was initially slated to commit this Saturday, but has decided to delay the big moment another week.
Meadows is the nation's No. 32 overall prospect, No. 6 wide receiver and No. 1 player in Nevada for the 2025 class, per the 247Sports rankings.
It was a busy stretch on the official visit front for the ultra-athletic Meadows, with stops at Michigan (May 31), Georgia (June 7), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18) and Alabama (June 21) jammed into the loaded schedule.
"I'm looking at a lot of things with these schools," Meadows told 247Sports recently, "but I know they've got to have a great quarterback to throw the ball, they have to have a great education and great leaders. Overall I'm finding the best fit for me and my future."
The standout pass catcher and reigning Gatorade state track and field player of the year surpassed the 20-offer mark during the evaluation period and quickly skyrocketed up the boards of college staffs. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Meadows registered a 36.73-second time in the 300-meter hurdles.
In 10 games as a junior last season Meadows was credited with 15 receptions for 391 yards and eight touchdowns. A tall and lanky prospect with a wide catch radius, Meadows has as much physical upside as any prospect out West for the cycle.

So we were in it for a minute and now looks like ND took over again

Yeah what a silly thing to think that the school with the second most titles this century could do it again.

Maybe he wants ND and he’s asking them to match

They made a “strong arse offer”, so around goes the next round of bidding. He’s really ND’s only big time WR target so they were never going to go down easy.
