You really think Tack Minor made that up? I'd be really surprised if it's not true.

Under Kelly so far, there’s been a lot of lack of communication. You can be skeptical, but at this point, it’s coming from a lot of different sources about current coaches and recruits, which leads me to believe it’s true.

Two things to consider....Who are “the lot of sources and what’s their motivation?” If true, maybe the lack of communication is by design? Some were contacted immediately and some not so immediately. Could be a strategy or thought process.

When the frick is it going to happen then? It just feels like recruiting has fallen off a cliff with absolutely no urgency this cycle.

Fallen off a cliff?

Just because you don’t know everything the coaching staff is doing and don’t understand that they’ve been focusing on ESD guys it doesn’t mean it’s fallen off a cliff.

They’re still in the process of getting the DC and his entire staff in place which is being stringently vetted.

I don't know about his claim of lack of communication but they've got to find a middle ground regarding sense of urgency. Getting hires right is one thing but for example most thought we weren't announcing coordinators because of some master plan they we were concocting behind the scenes to get playoff coaches while all the while it was the effing DC from Kentucky. Teams all across the country have been filling out staffs with Georgia's DC even being hired away and we're quiet as a mouse on a coach from Kentucky when they've gladly taken Dare and Kelvin Joseph off your hands without batting an eye. Come TF on

I don’t think it’s anything nefarious. Tack is an LSU fan. Denver is a recruit that’s used to being catered to.

Perhaps they have unrealistic expectations about the level of contact they should expect if they have made it clear he is a February signee.

Perhaps there has been plenty of contact, just not from Kelly himself.

There can be a lot of variables where Tack isn’t lying, but his portrayal may not be completely accurate.

Kelly made it abundantly clear he was going after the current commits and keeping them committed.

That's what he's done.

Now Matthews, Perkins, Harris, and Citizen the 4 biggest targets left on our board, are all signing in February. I'd imagine we'll be recruiting them extremely hard for the next month and a half.

This reminds me so much of Sabans first class here after he got hired

So tired of seeing people compare Kelly's hire to what Saban did 20+ years ago. This is a totally different climate of recruiting and there's a lot more at stake. You really can't afford to fall behind and settle.

Saban did this...
Saban did that...
Saban had to change the culture...

I would like LSU to get an elite recruiter on the defensive side. Frank can only do so much and he's on the offensive side+recruiting coordinator. If they hire another DB coach I'm hoping it's someone who's a lights out recruiter to go with Cooks. There's no elite recruiters on defensive side right now and Cooks is a hole where Raymond was for recruiting at least.

I totally agree. Statements coming from parents of kids not committed isn’t a crisis situation. The kids that remained committed during this entire process truly want to be at LSU should have been, and have been, the priority. Stabilize the foundation and build upon that. The fact that some highly rated players are delaying their decision is positive because it allows the new coaching staff to do something the old coaches couldn’t do - get the commitments.

We still have the other guys like Baker and Carter there though. Baker might be retained. Don't know about Carter. They need someone who was on Raymond's level of recruiting on the defensive side. Don't really care where just somewhere.

He needs to realize the SEC is a different level and he needs to be in constant contact with these kids

And you need to face the fact that Kelly has forgotten more than you will ever know about how to recruit and run a program. Let the man do his job without your constant bitching about it.
