you said he wasn't that impressive and I said he was simply by basing my opinion on the SEC coaches offering him

April 24

ESPNU 150 Watch List athlete Demarcus Milliner told affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com that he's not leaning toward Alabama and is in no hurry to commit.

"They say that (Alabama's leading) because I've been there the most and haven't really visited anywhere else. But I'm really not leaning toward anyone right now. I don't want to make a decision too early and then regret it. It could be the fall or signing day when I announce. I'm not in a big rush."

Programs such as Clemson, Tennessee, Stanford, South Carolina and Oklahoma have also offered the versatile junior.

I thought he was waiting until signing day, too. Maybe he went to Big Cat Weekend and was convinced

I was joking about the committable offer. In all seriousness, I'm sure LSU would love to have him but I doubt we've bothered wasting much, if any, time recruiting him. He's hasn't visitied LSU and I doubt that we've visited him.

Going to be a great player I expect. Bama lock.

Alonzo Lawrence was beaten out by Robby Green for instance.

No, he wasn't. Green was moved to safety, Lawrence is still at CB.

As for those of you claiming Rivals bias, Milliner is also the #1 rated CB by Scout.

I'm not claiming bias on rivals. I'm just stating that his film doesn't warrant that ranking. And it's funny that Lawrence is so much bigger than Green yet he's playing corner. It's because Lawrence is mildly retarded and can't pick up the scheme.

I bet there has been several DB struggle with Saban's Schemes. He was just a freshman.I think he will get it but incoming talent might pass him,imo

Maybe so. I just have heard that's the reason Lawrence hasn't played up to his rivals ranking.

Saban's schemes are notoriously difficult to learn, and he's only played for a year

He used to coach at LSU by the way.

Also, isn't Lawrence like not the brightest guy? I don't mean that as a kock on him as a person. Some people just aren't smart and that's fine with me.......but he probably doesn't have the easiest time learning a complicated scheme.

It'd be nice if Auburn actually did some recruiting every one and a while

What are you talking about? They have the top 3 RBs in the nation locked down!

Probably not. However, to base a potential career off of a red-shirt season is ludicrous. Hundreds of players have become All-Americans as upper classmen after having to redshirt their freshman year to acclimate to the college game. See Aaron Curry.

I take it you weren't born yet when LSU played Iowa in the Capital One Bowl or for any of LSU's losses to Arkansas when your coach coached LSU.

I love it how Alabama fans tell us "How Saban Is". I always find that shite funny.

Milliner's film is not very impressive. He's living off of a camp measurables day.

I said that the other day and someone went crazy about that. Im not saying Milliner isnt a good player but the film out on him is not really impressive besides the kick returns and him playing offense. I hope they have film of him playing corner this year so we can get a better evaluation of the kid. Alonzo Lawrence will be a fine player when his time comes, he was never coached to learn the finer points of playing CB in high school and just played off natural ability. He does have a slight learning curve but I dont think that will stop him from being an elite player!

That's all I was trying to say. His film is just sparce and the defensive plays are all at safety. He looked much better on offense than defense where he could showcase his straightline speed.

And you're right I'm probably jumping the gun a bit on Lawrence. It just seems like his size makes him more suited for safety.

I know what you meant... The film of him playing safety wasnt good at all in my opinion, ive seen kids make plays like that all the time. Alonzo has very good size and if im not mistaken he may be around the same size as Peterson now. I think with Green picking up the scheme so quick and with a high football IQ helps us better than Zo moving to safety. Green reminds me so much of Johnson but with better overrall skills!

Milliner's measurables are outstanding though. I think that's what gave Alonzo Lawrence such a lofty ranking as well so that's why my expectations of Milliner is tempered until I see more film.
