Im confident with gilmore as well. Mom hasnt been to LSU. That is basically what we are waiting on, i have faith in Miles to close this one out.

Apparently the staff is pretty confident in the young guys at DT. Particularly Mickey Johnson and Quentin Thomas. If Logan leaves we'll have Freak,Ferguson and those 2(not sure the 5th you referenced unless you're talking about Lawson or I'm losing my mind, which is possible). Not great depth but top talent. Only rationalization I've got.

Our problem at D-Tackle isn't 2013 - it's 2014. If Freak and Ferguson both head to the NFL as I expect they will (Freak because of pure talent and Ferguson because there is no reason for him to stay in school for 5 years), it leaves us with exactly two guys on our current roster who play D-Tackle (MJohnson and QThomas).
Our only possibility to prop up that position is with 2013 recruits (unless we see some guaranteed 2014 guy who can come in and immediately join our 2-deep). Based on that inevitability for the 2014 season, I think we need more than 2 in this 2013 recruiting class.
So yeah, I would say definitely: "Pressing Need"

I agree. We definitely need some quality DT's in this class. Gilmore has been told this I'm sure as well as Pagano. That's why I think we have a great shot at both. UF's depth at DT is much better than ours, and they signed quite a few last year when we signed none. I hope these kids relish this opportunity. I mean we have one 1st rounder after another, so why wouldn't these guys be lined up at the door waiting to play for us?

Quentin Thomas really gets overlooked around here because he never had a Sr. season of highschool, but I really think the kid is going to be a stud. The little bit of tape he had from highschool was very impressive. His film is very similar to Michael Patterson's from this class: won't blow you out the water, but very consistent. He never seemed to lose contain and what not.

Maybe Chief or Les have their eye on a JC DT somewhere that we don't know about for next year?
