Dead Period...

During a dead period, coaches can't contact recruits but can recruits contact coaches to commit? Or does the dead period put a hold on everything until after the bowls? Anybody know the exact rules. Thanks in advance.

coaches can only call a recruit once a week.... and cant visit at all

What happens if the coaches happen to go to a Subway and meet Wright and Fobbs who are there for two foot longs as well.

i believe this happened to KU coach Bill Self at a game. He was approached by a recruit during this period outside the locker room and they had a brief exchange, less than a minute. mostly small talk according to witnesses.
KU and the NCAA investigated and found it harmless.

If the coach pays for the sandwiches.
This happen to LSU when an assistant coach bought Po-Boy sandwiches at Serio's in New Orleans for a prospect having lunch there. Of course this happen because someone from an opposing University, in New Orleans, was eating lunch and pimped to the NCAA.

Yes, they can call the recruit once a week or call their HS coach as much as they want.
