Winnfield defensive end Michael Patterson pledged to the Tigers earlier in the day. Both were in attendance the the Tigers spring game.

Patterson (6-4, 232) told Tigerbait.com he wanted to tell LSU coach Les Miles in person after internet sites reported he had committed earlier this week.

"To be on the field and look at these guys makes me hungrier to get here and get on the field," Patterson told Tigerbait. "He was happy for me. He told me earlier whenever I made my decision to think about it, talk about it with my family and just go with what I felt. It was worth the wait. I wanted my family to be around and the coaches to experience where I'm going to go."

Good the young man got to do it person to make it official. For future reference these kids need to know that if they truly want their moment, they can't tell recruiting sites their plans. They always leak out and will continue to. Not as fun for the fans if the kids don't communicate with the sites but there just isn't much middle ground with things and the way they leak. There is no way to stop posters from taking the news outside of the paywall.
