I can't verify his weight, but I watch the kid every day and he is a monster. I wish you could see him batting in the DH role on our baseball team compared to our other average sized highs chool baseball players. (Don't worry - he's no football/baseball double threat

Decent size...does not look like 6'4" 230...more like 6'2" 215...nice athleticism that he displays at DE and WR...moves and runs very well for a big guy...has good speed...smart player with outstanding football instincts...reads and reacts...picks his opportunities as they arise...he will penetrate and disrupt or he will wait for the play to develop thereby not over-pursuing or getting caught out of position...very smart and disciplined...great vision and awareness...high motor...uses his hands well to keep OL at arms length and swipe away attempts to wire him to the blocker...lacks quick burst off line and acceleration...has a bad tendency of letting his body rise and standing straight up...he has enough size and strength to get away with it in high school but will get pushed back by OT in college...needs to learn to stay low and not get stood up.
Overall, very solid prospect. If I had to rate, I'd say 5.7 ***.

I enjoy a detailed report on a player, but only validated opinions. I have to ask if this is based on his highlights or if you have exposure to wide film/in person evaluations of several games.

Highlights, vid of one game, watch one game.
So, 2 games and highlights.

Well, I've never seen him, so thanks.
Just curious

Not 6 ft 2 in and 215 And that's coming from someone who has watched him play in probably 15+ games And seen him up close many times.

Very impressive. At least a 4 star player. As good a receiver as de. Has it all.

He will get a 4th star. If someone just showed me his film and then told me he was a 5 star DE/OLB recruit, I would not have a hard time believing it at all. He looks like a great, great commit...

what do you think his accurate size is?

Between 6 3" and 6 4" and 230-235. Once he is done with playing baseball, basketball, and football one after the other I could see him entering college at least 250 lbs. With a redshirt year he could really put some size on.

How does he compare in your mind, as far as potential in college, to Alonzo Moore?? I know different positions and all, but just curious since a lot of people wanted Moore to get an offer last year.

I can see him as a future first round lock if this is true. Kid is just too naturally athletic for a DE. Well coached with almost elite speed for the position. I'm sure Chavis had a wet dream when he saw this kid play.

I think Patterson was a little overshadowed last year due to Moore and a couple of other seniors that signed to play college ball. Potentially he is gonna be a SDE, he could play TE but would be so raw with blocking and iffy hands that it would be a long road. Moore to a lot of people was someone that could play Wr, Safety, etc, he was the kind of athlete that once he settles on one specific position could turn out to be a big steal for Nebraska.

He doesn't look like like he is 6'-4 x 230. Looks like a good athlete though. Could be versatile.

Not up on where we stand at TE but is it crazy to think LSU wants him as a potential TE? Sounds like he is a good WR but will end up being somewhere around 260?

I am so glad we have rulers, scales, and clocks. We'll never know a player's real measurables until he reaches the NFL combine.

Did Patterson ever officially commit today like he was supposed to??
