LSU safety commit Dashawn McBryde is another big riser. The back-seven masher from Denham Springs (La.) posted strong testing numbers a few weeks ago with a laser-timed 4.53 in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 4.25 in the short shuttle at 6-foot-3, 194 pounds. He's up to No. 74 overall.

Huge jump and he's ours!

This documentary is pretty good so far. Interview with Dashawn is great. Coach has nothing but praise for him and glad he's going to be a Tiger. He gave up basketball and did a full football off season.

This is the kind of thing that's going to happen. All of these people on other threads talking about it being a "depth class" have no idea what they're talking about.
Haven't looked at tape, just blindly accepting a numerical ranking based on a recruiting service as Gospel.
I'm just waiting for the melt when someone inevitably drops in the rankings and the "anti-LSU bias" arguments come out.
Soapbox moment aside, this kid can play. Pumped to get him on the field.

It’s still extremely early. So many people think these services have hundreds of scouts out watching sophomores and juniors lol

What was his previous ranking before jumping to 74?

How close does that put him to a 5* recruit?
Not that it matters but I was just curious

His 247 rating is 93. Looks like 98 is the rating for 5* status.

If I recalle correctly, most of the sites auto assign the top 30ish players (32 for 247sports) as 5 stars in their finals rankings to correlate as the first round of the NFL draft. So at #74 nationaly he's about 40ish spots off of 5 star range and looks to be a early 3rd round draft caliber player.

That dude definitely had no idea what he was talking about and I’d question his knowledge on LSU football as a whole. Nonetheless, Louisiana recruits will rise in the rankings, won’t be surprised to see another five star sprout before NSD.
