LSU frequently has a "surprise" recruit that the fans do not give much chance of signing and then on signing day LSU gets their letter-of-intent. Maybe Vanderdoes is that player this year.

Or maybe DT Montravious Adams, whose friends with Gilmore.

Gilmore is coming with Momma in August. PalmetoSports.com

"She hasn't had an opportunity to experience the glory of LSU," he kidded. "She's been to the other schools I'm considering and I'm not going to choose a school she doesn't approve of."

Will be a done deal once Momma sees what we all have seen!

I hope LSU takes 7 DL, 8 if they have plans to move Lawson to OL (classified now on defense).

I think the final number will be a big indicator of the staff's real plans for Lawson - I think it could go either way - he's very athletic, but that could translate to OT.

For a kid like Lawson, if his hands are better than his feet, he probably stays on defense - if his feet are better than his hands, he moves to OT (all other things being equal, and depending on the needs of the team).

Yep, IF LSU were to sign 8 "DL", you can bet Lawson is headed to offense, which from what I've read from others is not really a move. Sounds like he has played more OL than DL in HS anyway. But of course, my guess is the guy would have to agree to the switch and I think LSU is pretty honest with them up front (example Swanson from this year's verbals) . That is exactly what happened to Barksdale...all the services classified him a DL but once the LSU coaches said he would be a better player on the OL, he said he was happy to make the change. These players aren't dumb... they want to have the best chance of making pro money.

P.S. Davenport is another example of a DL going to the OL.

Think Herron is the best candidate to move inside down the line. Lavar Edwards like body type. Swing guy.

I know these kids bulk up when they get to campus, but after watching Herron in the video from the opening he looks pure DE to me.

I saw one of Robinson's highlight videos and came away unimpressed. Is there something i'm missing here?

Agree, the LAST thing I would want to see is a guy with that quickness losing it just to become a DT. Of course, we need to find out how good he is on protecting his end against the run, but on his longer video and certainly against that guy on this video, quickness and speed is not an issue for DE.
