He was right. HS basketball coaches are getting screwed.
yeah.. he read my post
I am not a hoops guy.... either...but he called me and said baseball coaches should take heed.....football and soccer for that matter...
some parents buy into the crack these coaches and programs sell about "marketing" their kid...
also with LHSAA split looming all kinds of craziness is being bantered about.

I think most of the really shady stuff is limited to basketball... it's unique circumstances like not needing very many kids for a team, being popular enough, big money shoe deals and stardom, and some if not most of the kids coming from being dirt poor
we are talking about one elite kid who earned the opportunity... other kids will step up in his minutes. if the other basketball schools in this state lost multiple kids, or if a basketball academy popped up here in our consciousness, it might be different

Someone in this thread mentioned UNLV as a possible destination. Looks like Findlays coach is headed there.

Well well well. Craig can't go to UNLV now bc doesn't a coach have to be removed from the program he came from for so many years to sign a recruit?

I don't think that's the rule. The rule says if a coach or someone related is hired, they must be a bench coach. At least that's my understanding. Programs can no longer create admin positions for package deals.
