fwiw, I am very close to the family on his mom's side. The entire family are HUGE LSU fans.
You must not be that close
They are LSU fans in the sense that they watch football games on Saturdays but they are not HUGE LSU fans.
While he would be more likely to commit to LSU of they offer because it's a great football school and his state school, it wouldn't be bc he's some diehard fan.

If the LSU coaching staff take recruiting advice from a message board they are in real trouble

I spoke with his dad a couple of weeks ago and asked how solid he is to TCU. He said that Cody is pretty solid and that they (TCU) are building a strong relationship.
He is a good character kid. Polite, respectful, well behaved, etc. They really enjoyed TCU and were impressed with everything about their trip. They won't be taking any more visits this spring. Will do a couple of camps this summer.
Told me that the only other trips he will take will be official visits.

I meant the family in general are all big LSU fans and would love to see him there. I know his Uncle's, Aunt's, and Cousins would love to see him in purple and gold if he is offered.

Its pretty funny reading about who knows which recruits family the best. This is the first time I am close enough to the situation to know who is full of it and who is not. BTW, great kid. Great family. He wont let the recruiting process go to his head. And he is a mauler. He will be open to whoever offers him. His dad is very involved in his recruiting and will help him make the right choice for him.

I saw that Cody Ford received an offer from Oklahoma yesterday. His offer list is starting to look impressive. Arkansas being the only SEC school so far.

Saw him the other day, asked him if he's doing any camps this summer and he said no, fwiw

If this is true, I can't imagine this approach. If he isn't elite, LSU won't offer without him camping, imo. It just seems this is how they operate these days.

I don’t understand this either, unless he has no desire to go to LSU.

That was kind of my point. He was wearing TCU gear. I think he's kind of decided.

Well that's good because the coaches dont want kids who wont camp.
He gets to play for TCU and we will get big time O-Linemen who showed out at camp.

Over Oklahoma? That kinda makes me think there's something personal about TCU to him.
Anyway, that's just lazy. Why would you camp somewhere to see what offers it produces?
