This crap may not be over then. If Michael kills defenses in college over the next few years there will be terds on here talking about how weak Big 12 defenses are and because of this his performances are not for real. Then if he goes into the NFL and does well there will be people talking about how the pro game is a completely different game. And so on and so on. I guarantee you if this happens there will be some people like this. But who knows what Michael will do.

As you all know, Mack gets his recruiting done early; real early. Further, Texas was only taking one RB last year. When these kids were Juniors, Whaley was higher regarded than CM. CM didn't really bust onto the scene, earn a 5th star from Rivals, etc. until he started attending camps last summer.

It will remain speculation forever on what LSU was thinking with CM, but I'm guessing, as others have noted, that it was a combination of 1) already having Ford and 2) still workin it with Richardson.

I do not believe Texas or LSU coaches thought CM was overrated by the recruiting services. I think they just had their guys already and Michael may have done it to himself by getting cocky when his stock began to soar and not committing to anyone earlier.

However, both Whaley and Ford may end up having better college careers than CM due to A&M's poor offensive line (if it continues for the next few years).

I think Bob Stoops and Urban Meyer both did offer CM and recruit him somewhat aggressively, but CM wasn't as interested in them as he was with Texas, LSU, and A&M.

...and to the poster that said CM "runs soft", post link please.
