Any ideas why Catholic High does not participate in 7 on 7?

And as a former Catholic DB, thats the one thing I wish we had done. It really would have us alot.

Lutcher doesn't do it either, against other teams at least, it's all intrasquad. Some coaches just feel like they get more out of it by not practicing in the leagues.

Yeah...and weiner was their coach.

As posted earlier, Catholic gets to where they are are guts...their athletes aren't the biggest or strongest, which means their well coached.

I strongly disagree with this. I graduated back in 2001 and they couldn't handle West Monroe, Evangel, or Shaw. Catholic High can never seem to win a game when it really matters. The game at Olympia against Evangel was winnable. I think poor coaching cost us that one. Yeah, you can have 9-10 win seasons every year, but who cares if you don't make it to the dome.

The team for the 2000 football season was one of the worst in recent memory. It was the year after one of the better senior classes as a group went through. The senior class that graduated in 2001 was small numbers wise. Plus, there was a lack in athleticism in that class across the board. No D1 signees from that class that I remember. This was the season where DW lost his first season opener.

Also, I am pretty sure this was also during the time that Shaw was caught for paying players... Just saying since they are specifically mentioned above.

Just last year he beat the #2 4A team in Florida and Acadiana in the playoffs. He took a below average team to the semifinals again. Is he really that bad?
Anyone who watched Catholic beat Florida's Pine Forest team last season saw Weiner ball at it's best.

I have to say Catholic has a lot of players who have signed good scholarships over the years. The whole idea that they lack talent to me seems ridiculous. I am always impressed with their athleticism when I watch them play. They get the best players in Baton Rouge like Parkview. Just like baseball struggled to win a championship I think as soon as a big time coach like Achord is hired for football Catholic will start at least making it to the dome. They are way too talented to get beat every year. They get the best in Baton Rouge and will get more players if they make a big hire.

This is one of the stupidest things ever posted on this board (no offense). The only reason CHS is competitive is because they're hitched to Hatch and they're teams are ALWAYS some of the strongest teams in the state. The coaching there is laughable.

What was the score when Ruston played Catholic in the dome (1990)?
