Obviously playmakers come in all shapes and sizes, but something about having a bunch of really big receivers on the LSU offense just feels right.

The reason we dont have that many passing TDs is because we run the ball in the redzone.

As you have seen often, we run 3 times in a row and either make it or don't. The shorter guys can't play the mismatch game in the Red when height is a dangerous advantage. They have to be way better than the other guy on routes and the QB has to be perfect on ball placement. Big guys, just chunk it up.

Same thing can be said for passing too... either you get it or you dont.

And werent we near the top of the SEC in red zone scoring / offense?

Last year was an LSU record in rushing TDs with 37, but you would like to know that the pass could be made if need be. We were good last year in the RZ in scoring, but we can be even better. Wouldn't you like the option of both a run AND pass threat at the goaline?

Umm it was.... In the red zone last year we had 26 rushing TDs and 11 passing TDs. Almost 2 rushing TDs per 1 passing TD. Which is pretty solid.

there are more talented tall recievers in state than ever so lsu is going after them. We pursue talented shorter receivers also, speedy. Just going where the talent is and right now it is tall.

Has anyone told the guy he is wrong yet? Don't feel like reading through all of this.

seems like we never brought in guys over 6'0". We'd have a occasional 6'-2" guy, but now all of a sudden we're pulling em in at 6'4", 6'5" and 6'6" and I LOVE IT.

we used to be all about it.

Yup. Bring back the fade in the red zone. Last one I saw was D Byrd vs Auburn.

Then you don't watch many games. First off, the one to D Byrd wasn't in the red zone. Some notable ones that WERE red zone fades that occurred since the one you mentioned were:

Lee to Randle against Oregon 2011
Lee to Tolliver to win against Fla 2010
Mett to Landry against Bama 2012

There were quite a few others but I'm way too lazy to go back over all the replays to identify them.

Ok so in 11 years we had 6 big receivers. After next years recruiting class we'll have 6 on the same team.

of the top 10 leaders for receiving yardage last year, 5 were under 6 foot tall, 2 at 5-11, 1 at 5-10, 1 at 5-9, and one at 5-8.

I just read the thread....I can't decided if your original statement, or this statement is more inaccurate.
