Caleb Williams Hinting at Looming Commitment

No link, but Caleb Williams just posted a picture of him in an Oregon uniform on Instagram. Someone asked in the comments if he was committed, to which he replied "Nah, you'll know soon enough."
This echoes what most of us already knew, but Caleb's commitment will be coming quite soon, within the next month to month and a half if I had to guess. As soon as the dead period ends, LSU needs to get on him HARD, as it seems Oklahoma and Penn State are really pushing him as their first priorities. Either way, I think LSU will be set at QB: Caleb Williams or Garrett Nussmeier.
also: it seems Mario Williams is interested in Caleb's commitment as well, and he's a pretty big target for the Tigers. We're in a good spot in his recruitment, but Oklahoma is pushing him hard as well, and he has a 100% CB to OU currently. This could work negatively or positively in our favor.

CGJ, someone hinted on a pay site that Garrett and Caleb communicate with one another and are aware of where each other stand. Do you believe that to be true?
Posted on 2/21/20 at 6:55 pm to Tigerfan1274
I believe it. Most recruits nowadays are in constant contact throughout their recruitment, even more so than with the actual colleges. They bounce ideas off of each other and try to sway their buddies' commitments. I'm not too sure on the nature of CW and Nuss' friendship but I do know they follow each other on social media and have talked before.

I can’t wait either
All this teasing on Twitter is so intriguing

They've both mentioned they communicate. At one point Nuss even mentioned that his commitment would come following Williams because Williams is ahead of him on boards. Kind of a domino effect.
Don't think Oklahoma has had Caleb on campus yet. He will visit his top schools again before deciding. We will be one of those visits.
He's at the top of our board why would anyone assume we aren't already on him HARD? Okla and PSU can't do anything we can't do as far as communication.

You’re overplaying this way too much.
These kids meet in passing at camps occasionally but they don’t DM each other constantly with where they’re picking to go.
I promise you - Wherever Garrett goes has absolutely no bearing on where Caleb goes. At all.

Also if Caleb is ready to commit that’s fantastic news. What you don’t want is a sexism date and a visit to OU or Penn Stats the weekend before

If he commits this early, I’ll take it with a grain of salt

This kid is trolling which makes me wonder if we should pass. This constant trolling is very immature and indicative of disrespect.

I hope Caleb Williams commits prior to the spring game on April 18th cause that's the same day Garrett Nussmeier is also committing.
As it appears Nussmeier is planning to commit at LSU while attending the spring game on April 18th if I had my guess. I mean, I don't think that date was set by accident.
Personally, I don't see Williams committing to anyone else other than to LSU. If he commits to play for LSU, he comes in for the 2021 season and redshirts while also learning the new offense, then when Myles Brennan heads off to the NFL, he competes for the starting job in 2022, and if he wins it, he'll be the starting QB in 2022, 2023, and 2024 before heading off to the NFL himself.
If he commits to Oklahoma, on the other hand, he'll have to sit behind Spencer Rattler for at least two years first before he gets his shot.
Not to mention, he'll play better competition at LSU relative to Oklahoma and LSU also has a better wide receiver corps relative to Oklahoma. As Oklahoma signed a bunch of 3-star receivers in this last recruiting class. Furthermore, the state of Louisiana is loaded with good receivers in this 2021 recruiting class.
I really don't think Penn State is in the running unless things have changed very recently.

He and his dad visited Oklahoma about a month ago and that's why we have seen a few CBs from Oklahoma insiders in the past month. The word is Lincoln Riley is going after him hard, per RJ Young on YouTube.

Why? Should UGA fans take with a grain of salt Vandagriffs commitment? How about Bama and Drake Maye? If Nuss were to commit to us would you take that as a grain of salt as well? Qbs routinely commit early. He's always had an early timeline.

He said when he commits that's it. He is not changing his mind cause his head football coach told him to be absolutely sure before he commits and not to de-commit.

Typical RB Catastrophe Syndrome stance:
Williams commits to LSU. ‘Domino effect’ causes Nuss to sign elsewhere. Slinger/Linehan/Brennan shite the bed with the O this season. Negative recruiting competing schools say “I told you so.” Williams flips. LSU culls the dregs of leftover QB’s in Feb 2020.

Culling Burrow won LSU a National Championship.
Chew on that a while.
