Well if this was cut and dry and he was 100% a gamecock, there would be absolutely nothing that would make his commitment weird. And if this kid has the character that people say he does, then this behavior would make sense if he was not going to South Carolina and didn’t want to disrespect them with a full gymnasium including Muschamp.

That video shows the mom signing it and then turning it over so no one else could see that it was actually the LSU offer he was signing.

Yeah I agree that its definitively odd...
If he was signing with LSU, I couldnt see him announcing that over a live gamecocks feed. Some say he already signed it months ago but I dont believe that. They really put him in an awkward spot by having the USC coaches there as well as other USCe recruits there joining him. He was very vague as far as an announcement goes. "Im excited to be with my friends for the next 3-4 years" can be interpreted alot of different ways because he didnt say he was playing with them at USCe. Not to mention they never really said anything about those kids all committing officially to USCe either. Just because he thanked a few coaches, USCe put a name plate with their logo, and gave him a hat didnt mean there was anything really official about that "announcement". His mom didnt look very happy either.

Could still be part of his ploy. Havent heard him say he's excited to join the Gamecocks other than all these vague assumptions people have made about this "announcement ceremony" that nothing was announced at.

Interesting that 247 is still showing him as a hard commit and not signed. Maybe it's nothing, but isn't 247 usually fairly quick with updating player profiles with their status?

Yeah for sure I don't know the rules but this just seems extremely weird and yeah I know that Muschamps son was signing with Georgia.

I was just making a factual reply to a guy asking if there was a video of his mother signing the LOI. I'm not making any assumptions, nor am I grasping at straws.
I've written Burch off. I'm just amused at how this is playing out. I will laugh out loud if this turns out to be one big misdirection by Burch because he was afraid of upsetting his neighbors.

For all on this board, this kid is obviously really torn as to where he wants to go to school. And when I mean torn, just look at what is going on I mean really torn!
It is his life and his hard work that led him here, we should all have respect for a kid that is really this torn and didn’t play games like Evans did.
I feel for this kid, I hope he makes his decision and wherever that maybe he is happy with his decision in the end!
