For some reason, I don’t think this one will be over till signing day. He was originally all USC. Then Clemson. Then UGa. Then LSU thought they had him. Then it shifted to USC looking like they had him to now UGa. It will probably be something different Monday, Then Tuesday, then Wed.

It’s not the message, it’s the people interpreting it.
They simply do not understand recruiting.
Probably true, but Vol does nothing to correct anyone who interprets it poorly. Hard to deny that he loves the attention.

There is nothing to support these wild statements about colleges paying recruits (be it directly or indirectly). And as cynical as I am, I can’t go there with them.
Is the oversight of college recruitment perfect? No, far from it. But there are natural incentives to report such behavior. If there were any credibility to this, a light would be put squarely on it by someone (likely opponents).
Just a handoff, do with it what you will.

Players are 100% being paid. That isn't up for debate. It's not being reported because everyone's doing it

I've always wondered what's to keep a kid from accepting payment from multiple programs if it's really that widespread. What recourse does a defrauded bagman really have? Send some thugs to bust him up? Sure, most of these kids are 17 but there's regular 17, and then there's 6'5, 300 17. I'm sure there plenty of boosters with the $100 handshake but big money payouts leave so much room for frickery.

Sucks that they can entertain all these kids on campus while we doing work, racking up awards all week,

Where are they getting this from? I mean, he could sign with us but why would he visit Georgia when he was told not to. I can see why the staff is acting like he's not coming here. Maybe he's still conflicted on a decision.
I don't think Clemson, USCe, Georgia, or LSU knows where he's going.

Vol has been spot on so far. Yes, Burton went to UGA, but our staff didn’t even know about this visit, which is telling; don’t expect him in this class
His info about Burch seems spot on. No one knows what he is going to do though. It is better that he’s visiting UGA instead of the in-state schools though. Hopefully our staff knew about this and he and his mother have been in contact with our staff the entire time

Neil said we are getting everyone and that’s what I want to believe so I’ll trust he’s an insider too
If it doesn’t work out, you can’t blame him bc it’s fluid
Same with Vol. I believe they are getting info and in the moment it’s accurate but sometimes things change

That's my point. I haven't read anywhere that Burch was told not to visit UGA. I only read that he was asked not to go to SC or Clemson this weekend and that his doing so would be an indication that he is not going to sign with LSU. The UGA visit surprised everyone following his recruitment. It may not have surprised the LSU staff though. We don't know that part. He could have told them on Friday for all we know.

Actually Vols exact words were O was asking him to shut it down. If he does not, then the writing is pretty much on the wall
I suppose “shut it down” could mean something else

I didn't see the "shut it down" part. Of course, I haven't read every post on this board over the past 48 hours either. I suppose I could have missed it. I only read that we should watch to see if he visited USC after Friday. That was it.

No, he used the word compromise. I read it that the UGA visit was a compromise of sorts
Posted on 12/15/19 at 8:05 am to LSUARPN08
I just saw where he acknowledged that he was wrong. The staff didn’t want Burch going to Georgia
This visit wasn’t a compromise
He initially said O was asking the kid to shut it down but he took that to mean Ga and SCar
Now he knows that includes Ga.
Things don’t look good with Burch per Vol.
At the end of the day it’s disappointing, but not surprising as we were really always considered a dark horse at best by the insiders

For those that don’t know...Kids get paid by boosters to take visits. Sometimes they get paid by boosters to not take visits.
Not sure what the going rate is now but not long ago it was around $500 for certain players to go or not go on visits.
Between now and signing day is when the boosters start making their best offers on certain kids. Not all recruits/families play this game.
Believe it or not...there are often gentlemen’s agreements between boosters in some cases. “This Guy is mine...we really need him” and “I won’t bid against you for this guy or in this area”. Boosters often spend a lot of $ and lose out to other schools. Just the price of doing business. It is hard to pull certain MS kids because of the late bag man.
One of the reasons Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss pissed off a lot of people was because he came in and went against the good ole boy booster’s ways of doing things. Ole Miss boosters started playing by their own rules and going after whoever they wanted...wherever they wanted. Basically giving the traditional way of doing business the middle finger.
Recruiting is not for the faint of heart and at times kids don’t end up at the school of their choice because they (their families, handlers, etc) are bought and paid for behind the scenes.

Jesus H Christ. The tin foil hats are already out!
Let me get this straight, there is a code of ethics among criminals? OK. This bag man and booster thing is outdated BS.
How about these kids are just enjoying the fun, which includes being treated like royalty with girls all around you. I’d do that too if I were back in college.

Stay clueless my man. You think I made that shite up?
The info comes directly from a MS State booster that I’ve known my whole life.
