I don't know if he will ever see the field at State but you're way off here.

He played at a private catholic school but they play public and private schools in sports. He wasn't playing scrubs every week. The school he played at is a 4A school as well, and not 2A. They won the state championship this year for 4A.

Southern MS did not offer...in fact only MS State did and very late, after others (and many others they wanted) had committed elsewhere

He had D-1 offers from Miss State, Southern Miss, Florida International and Tulane. Southern Miss was the first school to offer him in early Dec.

Dylan Favre played 4A public school ball and led his team to the state championship breaking every single Mississippi passing record there was.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The kid is undesized, but he is a competator and athlete.

You must be his relative. He is a good kid, competitive and athletic, but give us a break. There are 4-6 QB's from BR alone who are better in the 2010 class. St. Stal is tiny with 246 kids in grades 9-12 and he threw 500+ times against generally weak competition. Good public schools would have destroyed them. Again, great kid...but not D-I QB. His last name is a key. He is tough and could probably be moved around at a small college, but his shuttle and 40 times aren't great and he side arms the ball with 5' 10" height. Any offers were VERY late and gratuitious only. MS State offered a BR area QB, would have offered another but went Farve instead last minute, was rejected by 5 or 6 others offered, including the real guy Mullen wanted, Cam Newton...a stud who is now at Auburn.

St. Stan has 246 kids 9-12. They are very small...medium to large public schools would intercept regularly and desroy them...he would not have thrown 500+ times a season against average-good competition. Take off your blinders. His name got him an offer last minute after 6-8 others guys turned down MSU offers. Good kid, but not D-I. It says a lot about private football competion in a State when a school that size is 4A.

Never had them on.

In my post I said I dont know if he will ever see the field at State. It's true he wasnt the top choice for a scholly either. If State would have landed Cam Newton, Favre may have not gotten his scholly. I was just stating the competetion he played against wasnt as weak as it seems. I do know he played against 4A public schools in MS b/c some of the schools he played against last year were the same one's I played against 10 years ago and yes I played football in the public school system.

I dont know why St Stans plays 4A public schools when there are only 250 kids there. I know most of the 4A's in MS have 1000+ kids in 4A class 9-12.

FWIW I've seen State offer worse QB's over the past decade.

Fur Boy Michael Hening, you LSU fans should remember him well.

Dylan Favre is a winner, and I have talked to a couple of HS coaches who used to coach on the college level and they believe that Favre can and will play at State.

FWIW due to a QB quitting this week, Dylan will come in this summer at number 3 on our depth charts.

Dude you dont have a clue about Mississippi HS football. St. Stanislaus won the 4A state championship and they actually beat a few pretty damn good teams along the way.

I have personally seen Dylan Favre play and I would take him any day of the week because the kid is a winner. In the state championship game he passed for over 300 yds and 3 TDs Rushed for 70+ and 2 TDs, and played Safety on defense making 14 tackels and intercepting a pass.

I dont know why you are hating on the young man so bad. I assume back in the day you were an all world QB in Louisiana who holds every passing record in the state by the way you are bashing the all time leading Passer in Mississippi HS football history.

Give the kid some credit.

Ok...you make some good points. I have said good kid, good athlete, can play many positions and tough. I also love the campus at MSU and would love to see him play there and be able to compete with the big schools. I am not bashing him...he played the game he loves very well, got an offer and took it at a home state school. I will agree to disagree with you on some other things. Mullen is a good QB coach, will work on his delivery, etc and maybe get him ready to QB...I do hope it works out.

I did play...thanks for assuming. Unfortunately, I hold very few records from when I played in High School, College and the CFL. Maybe the record for getting pancaked, but that is ok...no bad concussions thank god, although you may disagree!
